 10:1 ¶
Weary in my soul, I will pour my words with groans upon him: I will speak being straitened in the bitterness of my soul. |
|
 10:1 ¶
My soulº
is wearyºº
of my life;º
I will leaveºº
my complaintº
uponº
myself; I will speakºº
in the bitternessº
of my soul.º |
 10:2
And I will say to the Lord, Do not teach me to be impious; and wherefore hast thou thus judged me? |
 10:2
I will sayºº
untoº
Eloah,º
Do notº
condemnºº
me; shewºº
me whereforeºº
thou contendestºº
with me. |
 10:3
Is it good before thee if I be unrighteous? for thou hast disowned the work of thy hands, and attended to the counsel of the ungodly. |
 10:3
[Is it] goodººº
unto thee thatº
thou shouldest oppress,ºº
thatº
thou shouldest despiseºº
the workº
of thine hands,º
and shineºº
uponº
the counselº
of the wicked?º |
 10:4
Or dost thou see as a mortal sees? or wilt thou look as a man sees? |
 10:4
Hast thou eyesº
of flesh?º
orº
seestºº
thou as manº
seeth?ºº |
 10:5
Or is thy life human, or thy years [the years] of a man, |
 10:5
[Are] thy daysº
as the daysº
of man?º
[are] thy yearsº
as man'sº
days,º |
 10:6
that thou hast enquired into mine iniquity, and searched out my sins? |
 10:6
Thatº
thou enquirestºº
after mine iniquity,º
and searchestºº
after my sin?º |
 10:7
For thou knowest that I have not committed iniquity: but who is he that can deliver out of thy hands? |
 10:7
Thou knowestº
thatº
I am notº
wicked;ºº
and [there is] noneº
that can deliverºº
out of thine hand.ºº |
 10:8
Thy hands have formed me and made me; afterwards thou didst change [thy mind], and smite me. |
 10:8
Thine handsº
have madeºº
me and fashionedºº
me togetherº
round about;º
yet thou dost destroyºº
me. |
 10:9
Remember that thou hast made me [as] clay, and thou dost turn me again to earth. |
 10:9
Remember,ºº
I beseech thee,º
thatº
thou hast madeºº
me as the clay;º
and wilt thou bringºº
me into dustº
again?ºººº |
 10:10
Hast thou not poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese? |
 10:10
Hast thou notº
poured me outºº
as milk,º
and curdledºº
me like cheese?º |
 10:11
And thou didst clothe me with skin and flesh, and frame me with bones and sinews. |
 10:11
Thou hast clothedºº
me with skinº
and flesh,º
and hast fencedºº
me with bonesº
and sinews.º |
 10:12
And thou didst bestow upon me life and mercy, and thy oversight has preserved my spirit. |
 10:12
Thou hast grantedººº
me lifeº
and favour,º
and thy visitationº
hath preservedºº
my spirit.º |
 10:13
Having these things in thyself, I know that thou canst do all things; for nothing is impossible with thee. |
 10:13
And theseº
[things] hast thou hidºº
in thine heart:º
I knowºº
thatº
thisº
[is] withº
thee. |
 10:14
And if I should sin, thou watchest me; and thou hast not cleared me from iniquity. |
 10:14
Ifº
I sin,ºº
then thou markestºº
me, and thou wilt notº
acquitºº
me from mine iniquity.ºº |
 10:15
Or if I should be ungodly, woe is me: and if I should be righteous, I cannot lift myself up, for I am full of dishonour. |
 10:15
Ifº
I be wicked,ºº
woeº
unto me; and [if] I be righteous,ºº
[yet] will I notº
lift upºº
my head.º
[I am] fullº
of confusion;º
therefore seeºººº
thou mine affliction;º |
 10:16
For I am hunted like a lion for slaughter; for again thou hast changed and art terribly destroying me; |
 10:16
For it increaseth.ºº
Thou huntestºº
me as a fierce lion:º
and againºº
thou shewest thyself marvellousºº
upon me. |
 10:17
renewing against me my torture: and thou hast dealt with me in great anger, and thou hast brought trials upon me. |
 10:17
Thou renewestºº
thy witnessesº
againstº
me, and increasestºº
thine indignationº
uponº
me;º
changesº
and warº
[are] againstº
me. |
 10:18
Why then didst thou bring me out of the womb? and why did I not die, and no eye see me, |
 10:18
Whereforeº
then hast thou brought me forthºº
out of the womb?ºº
Oh that I had given up the ghost,ºº
and noº
eyeº
had seenºº
me! |
 10:19
and I become as if I had not been? for why was I not carried from the womb to the grave? |
 10:19
I should have beenº
as thoughº
I had notº
been;º
I should have been carriedºº
from the wombºº
to the grave.º |
 10:20
Is not the time of my life short? suffer me to rest a little, |
 10:20
[Are] notº
my daysº
few?º
ceaseºººº
[then, and] let me alone,ººººº
that I may take comfortºº
a little,º |
 10:21
before I go whence I shall not return, to a land of darkness and gloominess; |
 10:21
Beforeº
I goººº
[whence] I shall notº
return,ºº
[even] toº
the landº
of darknessº
and the shadow of death;º |
 10:22
to a land of perpetual darkness, where there is no light, neither [can any one] see the life of mortals. |
 10:22
A landº
of darkness,º
asº
darknessº
[itself; and] of the shadow of death,º
withoutº
any order,º
and [where] the lightºº
[is] asº
darkness.º |
