3:1
What then is the excellence of the Jihudoya, and what the profit of circumcision? |
|
3:1
What then is the superiority of the Jew? Or what is the advantage of circumcision? |
3:2
Much in every thing: primarily that they had intrusted (to them) the words of Aloha. |
|
3:2
Much, every way. And first, because to them were intrusted the oracles of God. |
3:3
For if some of them believed not, would their unbelief abolish the faithfulness of Aloha? |
|
3:3
For if some of them have not believed, have they, by their not believing, made the faith of God inefficient? |
3:4
Not so: for Aloha is true, and every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mayest be just in thy words, And triumph when they judge thee. |
|
3:4
Far be it: for God is veracious, and every man false: as it is written: That thou mightest be upright, in thy declarations; and be found pure, when they judge thee. |
3:5
But if our iniquity the righteousness of Aloha establisheth, what shall we say? Is Aloha evil, who bringeth his wrath? As a man do I speak. |
|
3:5
But if our iniquity establish the rectitude of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous, when he inflicteth wrath? (I speak as a man.) |
3:6
Not so; otherwise how shall Aloha judge the world? |
|
3:6
Far from it. Otherwise how will God judge the world? |
3:7
For if the truth of Aloha is promoted by my lie unto his glory, why then am I judged as a sinner? |
|
3:7
But if the truth of God hath been furthered by my falsehood, to his glory; why am I then condemned as a sinner? |
3:8
Or why, as certain blaspheme concerning us, affirming that we say, Let us do evil, that good may come? they, whose condemnation is reserved by justice. |
|
3:8
Or shall we say as some have slanderously reported us to say: We will do evil things, that good [results] may come? The condemnation of such is reserved for justice. |
3:9
What then, have we attained excellence? (No.) For before we decided of the Jihudoyee and of the Aramoyee that they are all under sin; |
|
3:9
What then, have WE the superiority, when we have before decided as to both Jews and Gentiles, that all of them are under sin? |
3:10
as it is written, None is righteous, not one. |
|
3:10
As it is written: There is none righteous; no, no one: |
3:11
None understandeth or seeketh Aloha. |
|
3:11
and none that understandeth; nor that seeketh after God. |
3:12
All have declined together and are reprobate, And there is none that doeth good, not one. |
|
3:12
They have all turned aside, together; and become reprobates. There is none that doeth good; no, not one. |
3:13
Open sepulchres are their throats, Their tongues have deceived, And the venom of asps is under their lips. |
|
3:13
Their throats are open sepulchres, and their tongues treacherous; and the venom of the asp is under their lips. |
3:14
Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness, |
|
3:14
Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; |
3:15
And their feet are swift to shed blood. |
|
3:15
and their feet are swift to shed blood. |
3:16
Crushing and misery are in their ways; |
|
3:16
Destruction and anguish are in their paths: |
3:17
And the way of peace they have not known; |
|
3:17
and the path of peacefulness they have not known: |
3:18
And the fear of Aloha is not before their eyes. |
|
3:18
and the fear of God is not before their eyes. |
3:19 ¶
BUT we know that whatever the law saith, to them who are under the law it saith: that every mouth may be shut, and all the world be guilty unto Aloha. |
|
3:19
Now we know, that whatever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be guilty before God. |
3:20
Because by the works of the law no flesh is justified before him; for from the law sin is known. |
|
3:20
Wherefore, by the deeds of the law, no flesh is justified before him: for, by the law, sin is known. |
3:21
But now, without the law the righteousness of Aloha is revealed, and the law and the prophets (themselves) testify of it. |
|
3:21
But now, the righteousness of God without the law, is manifested; and the law and the prophets testify of it: |
3:22
But the righteousness of Aloha is by faith of Jeshu Meshiha, unto all and also upon all who believe in him. For there is no distinction: |
|
3:22
even the righteousness of God, which is by faith in Jesus Messiah, for every one, and on every one, that believeth in him: for there is no distinction; |
3:23
for all have sinned, and have failed of the glory of Aloha; |
|
3:23
for they have all sinned, and failed of the glory of God. |
3:24
and all are justified by grace freely, and (that) through the redemption which is in Jeshu Meshiha, |
|
3:24
And they are justified gratuitously, by grace, and by the redemption which is in Jesus Messiah; |
3:25
whom Aloha before ordained (to be) a propitiation through faith in his blood for our sins which from the first we had sinned, |
|
3:25
whom God hath preconstituted a propitiation, by faith in his blood, because of our sins, which we before committed, |
3:26
within the space which Aloha hath given to us in his patience, unto the manifestation of his righteousness which (is) in this time: that he might be just, and might justify in righteousness him who is in the faith of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha. |
|
3:26
in the space which God in his long suffering gave to us, for the manifestation of his righteousness at the present time; that he might be righteous, and might with righteousness justify him who is in the faith of our Lord Jesus Messiah. |
3:27
Where, then, is boasting? It is abolished. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith. |
|
3:27
Where then is glorying? It is annihilated. By what law? by that of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. |
3:28
We comprehend, therefore, that by faith man is justified, and not by the works of the law. |
|
3:28
We therefore conclude, that it is by faith a man is justified, and not by the works of the law. |
3:29
Is Aloha of the Jihudoyee only, and not of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also |
|
3:29
For, is he the God of the Jews only, and not of the Gentiles? Nay: of the Gentiles also. |
3:30
Because one is Aloha, who justifieth the circumcision by faith, also the uncircumcision by the same faith. |
|
3:30
Because there is, one God, who justifieth the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision by the same faith. |
3:31
Do we therefore the law abolish by faith? Not so, but the law itself we establish. |
|
3:31
Do, we then nullify the law by faith? Far be it. On the contrary, we establish the law. |
