12:1 ¶
I BESEECH then of you, my brethren, by the mercies of Aloha, that you present your bodies a sacrifice, living and holy and acceptable unto Aloha, in a rational service. |
|
12:1
I beseech you, therefore, my brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, by a rational service [of him]. |
12:2
And be not likened unto this world, but be changed by the renewing of your minds, that you may discern what is the will of Aloha, good, and acceptable, and perfect. |
|
12:2
And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed, by the renovation of your minds: and discern ye what is the good and acceptable and perfect pleasure of God. |
12:3
But I tell you all through the grace which is given to me, that you are not to think beyond what it is proper to think; but that you think with sobriety, every man as Aloha hath divided to him faith in measure. |
|
12:3
And, by the grace given to me, I say to you all: Do not carry thoughts, beyond what ye ought to think; but think with modesty, as God hath distributed to each one his measure of faith. |
12:4
For as in one body we have many members, and as all the members have not one work, |
|
12:4
For as we [severally] have many members in one body, and all those members have not the same functions; |
12:5
so also we who are many are one body in the Meshiha; but we are each of us members one of another. |
|
12:5
so also we, who are [collectively] many persons, are one body in Messiah, and are naturally members of each other. |
12:6
But we have various gifts according to the grace that is given to us: is it prophecy? (let him who has received it) prophesy according to the measure of the faith. |
|
12:6
But we have different gifts, according to the grace given to us. There is that of prophecy, according to the measure of his faith. |
12:7
Hath (another the gift) of ministry? (let him be employed) in his ministry; he who is a teacher, (let him labour) in his teaching; |
|
12:7
And there is that of ministration, possessed by one in his ministry. And there is that of a teacher, in his teaching. |
12:8
he who is an exhorter, in his exhorting; as he who giveth, (let him give with simplicity;) and he who presideth, (let it be) with diligence; and he who (is engaged in works) of mercy, with cheerfulness. |
|
12:8
And there is that of a consoler, in his consoling: And that of a giver, with simplicity: And that of a presider, with dexterity: And of a sympathizer, with cheerfulness. |
12:9
And let not your love be guileful; abhor things evil, cleave to the good. |
|
12:9
Let not your love be guileful: but be haters of evil things, and adherers to good things. |
12:10
Be tender to your brethren, and love one another, being forward to honour one another. |
|
12:10
Be affectionate to your brethren: and love one another. Be foremost in honoring one another. |
12:11
Be diligent, and not slothful, be fervent in spirit, be serving your Lord. |
|
12:11
Be active; and not slothful. Be fervent in spirit. Be laborers for our Lord. |
12:12
Rejoice in your hope, sustain your afflictions, be constant in prayer; |
|
12:12
Be joyful in your hope. Be patient under your afflictions. Be persevering in prayer. |
12:13
distributing to the necessity of the saints. Be kind to strangers. |
|
12:13
Be communicators to the wants of the saints. Be kind to strangers. |
12:14
Bless your persecutors; bless, and curse not. |
|
12:14
Bless your persecutors: bless, and curse not. |
12:15
Rejoice with them who rejoice, and weep with them who weep. |
|
12:15
Rejoice with them who rejoice: and weep with them who weep. |
12:16
And what you think of yourselves, (that) also think of your brethren; nor think with a high mind, but incline to them who are humble; and be not wise in the conceit of your own mind. |
|
12:16
What estimation ye make of yourselves, [make] also of your brethren. And indulge not high thoughts; but unite yourselves with the lowly minded. And be not wise in your own estimation. |
12:17
And repay to no man evil for evil, but be careful to do good before all men. |
|
12:17
And repay to no man evil for evil: but let it be your study to do good before all men. |
12:18
And if possible, as much as is in you, with all men make peace. |
|
12:18
And if possible, so far as it dependeth on you, live in peace with every man. |
12:19
And avenge not yourselves, my beloved, but give place unto wrath; for it is written, that if thou execute not judgment for thyself, I will execute thy judgment, saith Aloha. |
|
12:19
And be ye not avengers of yourselves, my beloved: but give place to wrath. For it is written: If thou dost not execute judgment for thyself, I will execute judgment for thee, saith God. |
12:20
And if thy adversary hunger, feed him; and if he thirst, give him drink: and if these things thou do unto him, coals of fire thou wilt heap upon his head. |
|
12:20
And if thy adversary be hungry, feed him: and if he be thirsty, give him drink. For if thou doest these things to him, thou wilt heap coals of fire on his head. |
12:21
Let not evil overcome you, but overcome evil with good. |
|
12:21
Be ye not overcome by evil; but overcome evil with good. |
