1:1 ¶
PAULOS, a servant of Jeshu Meshiha, called, and an apostle, who hath been separated unto the gospel of Aloha, |
|
1:1
PAUL, a servant of Jesus the Messiah, called and sent; and separated unto the gospel of God, |
1:2
which from of old he had promised by the hand of the prophets, in the holy writings, |
|
1:2
(which he had before promised, by his prophets, in the holy scriptures, |
1:3
concerning his Son, who was born, according to the flesh, of the seed of the house of David, |
|
1:3
concerning his Son, (who was born in the flesh, of seed of the house of David, |
1:4
and is known (to be) the Son of Aloha by power, and by the Holy Spirit, who raised him from among the dead, Jeshu Meshiha our Lord: |
|
1:4
and was made known as the Son of God, by power, and by the Holy Spirit,) who arose from the dead, Jesus Messiah, our Lord, |
1:5
by whom we have received grace and apostleship among all nations, that they should become obedient unto the faith of his name: |
|
1:5
by whom we have received grace, and a mission among all the Gentiles, to the end that they may obey the faith in his name; |
1:6
and you also are of them, called in Jeshu Meshiha: |
|
1:6
among whom, ye also are called by Jesus Messiah;) |
1:7
To all who are in Ruma, beloved of Aloha, called and saints; peace and grace be with you from Aloha our Father, and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha. |
|
1:7
to all those who are at Rome, beloved of God, called and sanctified: Peace and grace be with you, from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus Messiah. |
1:8
First, I praise my God through Jeshu Meshiha on behalf of you all, that your faith is heard (of) in all the world. |
|
1:8
In the first place, I give thanks to God by Jesus Messiah, on account of you all; because your faith is heard of in all the world. |
1:9
For a witness unto me is Aloha, whom I serve in the spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing at all time I remember you in my prayers. |
|
1:9
And God, whom in spirit I serve in the gospel of his Son, is my witness, that I unceasingly make mention of you, at all times, in my prayers. |
1:10
And I pray that from now there may be opened unto me the way, by the will of Aloha, to come to you. |
|
1:10
And I likewise supplicate, that hereafter a door may be opened to me, by the good pleasure of God, to come unto you. |
1:11
For I greatly desire to see you, and to impart to you the gift of the Spirit, that thereby you may be established, |
|
1:11
For I long much to see you; and to impart to you the gift of the Spirit, whereby ye may be established; |
1:12
and that together we may be comforted by your faith and mine. |
|
1:12
and that we may have comfort together, in the faith of both yourselves and me. |
1:13 ¶
BUT I will that you know, my brethren, that many times I have willed to come to you, and have been hindered until this; that among you also I may have fruit as among the rest of the nations |
|
1:13
And I wish you to know, my brethren, that I have many times desired to come to you, (though prevented hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also; even as among other Gentiles, |
1:14
of the Javnoyee and Barbaroyee, the wise and the foolish, because to every man am I obligated to preach; |
|
1:14
Greeks and barbarians, the wise and the unwise: for to every man am I a debtor, to preach [to him]. |
1:15
and so am I urged to evangelize unto you also who are in Ruma. |
|
1:15
And so I am eager to preach to you also who are at Rome. |
1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of Aloha for the salvation of all who believe in him, whether of the Jihudoyee first, or of the Aramoyee: |
|
1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel; for it is the power of God unto life, to all who believe in it; whether first they are of the Jews, or whether they are of the Gentiles. |
1:17
for the righteousness of Aloha in it is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, The righteous by faith shall live. |
|
1:17
For in it is revealed the righteousness of God, from faith to faith; as it is written, The righteous by faith, shall live. |
1:18
For the wrath of Aloha is revealed from heaven against all the unrighteousness and depravity of the sons of men, who the truth in unrighteousness detain. |
|
1:18
For the wrath of God from heaven is revealed against all the iniquity and wickedness of men, who hold the truth in iniquity. |
1:19
Because the knowledge of Aloha is revealed in them; for Aloha revealed it in them. |
|
1:19
Because a knowledge of God is manifest in them; for God hath manifested it in them. |
1:20
For the occult things of Aloha from the foundations of the world, unto his creatures by intelligence are apparent, and his power and his Godhead eternal, that they may be without excuse. |
|
1:20
For, from the foundations of the world, the occult things of God are seen, by the intellect, in the things he created, even his eternal power and divinity; so that they might be without excuse; |
1:21
For when they knew Aloha, they did not as Aloha glorify him and praise him, but became vain in their imaginations, and their heart was darkened, that they understood not. |
|
1:21
because they knew God, and did not glorify him and give thanks to him as God, but became vain in their imaginings, and their unwise heart was darkened. |
1:22
And while thinking in themselves that they were wise, they were fools. |
|
1:22
And, while they thought within themselves that they were wise, they became fools. |
1:23
And they changed the glory of Aloha the Incorruptible into the likeness of the image of corruptible man, and into the likeness of birds and of four-footed (beasts) and of reptiles of the earth. |
|
1:23
And they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into a likeness to the image of a corruptible man, and into the likeness of birds and quadrupeds and reptiles on the earth. |
1:24
Because of this Aloha delivered them up to the unclean lusts of their hearts, that they would debase their bodies among them. |
|
1:24
For this cause, God gave them up to the filthy lusts of their heart, to dishonor their bodies with them. |
1:25
And they changed the truth of Aloha into a lie, and worshipped and served the creatures rather than their Creator, to whom be praises and blessings for ever and ever. Amen. |
|
1:25
And they changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the created things, much more than the Creator of them, to whom belong glory and blessing, for ever and ever: Amen. |
1:26 ¶
WHEREFORE Aloha delivered them up to passions of vileness: for their females changed the use of their nature, and to what is not natural were used. |
|
1:26
For this cause, God gave them up to vile passions: for their females changed the use of their natures, and employed that which is unnatural. |
1:27
And also their males likewise left the natural use of their females, and were inflamed with concupiscence one with another, and male with male wrought shamefulness, and the just retribution for their perverseness in themselves received. |
|
1:27
And so also their males forsook the use of females, which is natural, and burned with lust toward one another; and, male with male, they did what is shameful, and received in themselves the just recompense of their error. |
1:28
And as they did not decide in themselves to know Aloha, so did Aloha cause them to be delivered up to a mind of vainness, and to do what is not fit; |
|
1:28
And as they did not determine with themselves to know God, God gave them over to a vain mind; that they might do what they ought not, |
1:29
being filled with all wickedness, and uncleanness, and rancour, and malice, and rapacity, and envy, and murder, and contention, and deceit, and evil imaginings, |
|
1:29
being full of all iniquity, and lewdness, and bitterness, and malice, and covetousness, and envy, and slaughter, and strife, and guile, and evil machinations, |
1:30
and murmurings, and slanders, and hating of Aloha: vilifiers, inflated ones, boasters, inventors of evil things, mindless, disobedient to parents, |
|
1:30
and backbiting, and slander; and being haters of God, scoffers, proud, vain-glorious, devisers of evil things, destitute of reason, disregardful of parents, |
1:31
(men) to whom a compact is nothing, and (who) neither love peace nor (have) mercy in them; |
|
1:31
and to whom a covenant is nothing, neither affection, nor peace, and in whom is no compassion. |
1:32
who, knowing the judgment of Aloha, that they who these things do, unto death are condemned, (yet) not only do them, but also participate with those who do them. |
|
1:32
These, while they know the judgment of God, that he condemneth those to death who perpetrate such things, are not only doers of them, but the companions of such as do them. |
