10:1 ¶
AND he arose from thence, and came to the borders of Jehud on the other side of the Jurdan: and great multitudes went thither to him; and he taught them again as he was accustomed. |

And he arose from there, and came to the border of Judaea, on the other side the Jordan. And great multitudes came to him there; and again he instructed them, as he was accustomed. |

And the Pharishee drew nigh, tempting him, and demanding whether it were lawful for a man to dismiss his wife. |

And the Pharisees came to him, and, tempting him, inquired if it were lawful for a man to divorce his wife. |

He saith to them, What hath Musha prescribed? |

He said to them: What did Moses command you? |

But they say, Musha permitted us to write a writing of dismissal, and to send away. |

They said: Moses permitted us to write a bill of divorce, and send [her] away. |

Jeshu answered and said to them, On account of the hardness of your heart he wrote for you this commandment. |

But from the beginning the male and the female Aloha made them. |

For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; |

And his disciples asked him again in the house concerning this (matter). |

And he said to them, Every one who shall send away his wife, and take another, adulterizeth. |

And they presented unto him children, that he should touch them: but his disciples rebuked those who presented them. |

And they brought little children to him, that he might touch them. But his disciples rebuked those who brought them. |

But Jeshu, when he saw, was displeased, and said to them, Permit the children to come to me, and forbid them not: for of those who are as these is the kingdom of Aloha. |

And when Jesus saw it, he was displeased; and he said to them, Suffer little children to come to me, and forbid them not; for of those like them is the kingdom of God. |

Amen I say to you, That whoever shall not receive the kingdom of Aloha as a child, shall not enter into it. |

Verily I say to you, That whoever doth not receive the kingdom of God, like a little child, shall not enter it. |

And he took them on his arms, and laid his hand upon them, and blessed them. |

AND as he journeyed in the way, one ran, fell upon his knees, and asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? |

Jeshu said to him, Why callest thou me good? none is good but one, Aloha. |

Thou knowest the commandments, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not witness false testimony, Thou shalt not injure, Honour thy father and thy mother. |

And Jeshu beheld him and loved him, and said to him, One thing is wanting to thee: go, sell all whatever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have a treasure in heaven: and take up thy cross and come after me. |

And Jesus looked on him, and loved him, and said to him: One thing thou lackest. Go, sell all that thou possessest, and give to the poor, and there will be a treasure for thee in heaven; and take thy cross, and come after me. |

But he was grieved at that word, and went away sorrowful: for he had great riches. |

And he was made sad by that speech, and went away sorrowing: for he possessed great riches. |

And Jeshu beheld his disciples, and said to them, How hard to those who have riches to enter the kingdom of Aloha! |

And Jesus looked upon his disciples, and said to them: How hard for those who possess wealth, to enter into the kingdom of God! |
10:24
But his disciples were astonished at his words. And Jeshu answered again, and said to them, My sons, how hard (is it) for those who trust on their riches to enter into the kingdom of Aloha! |

And the disciples wondered at the remark. And Jesus, replied again, and said to them: My children, how hard it is, for those who trust in riches, to enter into the kingdom of God. |

It is easier for a camel to go through the hole of a needle, than for a rich to enter into the kingdom of Aloha. |

It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. |
10:26
And they were the more astonished, and said among themselves, Who can be saved? |

And they wondered the more, and said among themselves: Who can obtain life! |
10:27
Jeshu beheld them and said to them, With the sons of men this is not possible, but with Aloha: for every thing is possible with Aloha. |

And Jesus looked on them again, and said to them: With men, this is not possible, but with God [it is]; for with God all things are possible. |

THEN began Kipha to say, Behold, we have forsaken every thing, and have cleaved to thee. |

And Cephas began to say: Lo, we have left every thing, and have cleaved to thee. |

Jeshu responded and said, Amen I say to you, There is no man who forsaketh houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, on account of me, and on account of my gospel, |

Jesus answered and said: Verily I say to you, There is no man that leaveth houses, or brothers or sisters, or father or mother, or wife or children, for my sake, and for the sake of my tidings, |

who shall not receive a hundred-fold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecution; and in the world which cometh the life that is eternal. |

Now when they were going up in the way to Urishlem, Jeshu himself preceded them; and they were amazed, and came after him, fearing. And he took his twelve, and began to tell them what it was which was to happen to him. |

And as they were in the way, going up to Jerusalem, Jesus went before them: and they were amazed, and walked after him with trembling. And he took his twelve, and began to tell them what was to befall him. |

Behold, we go up to Urishlem; and the Son of man (will be) betrayed to the chief priests, and to the Sophree; and they shall condemn him to the death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles; |

Behold, we are going to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be delivered up to the chief priests and the Scribes; and they will condemn him to die, and will deliver him over to the Gentiles. |

and shall mock him, and scourge him, and spit in his face, and kill him: and the third day he shall arise. |

AND Jacub and Juchanon, sons of Zabdai, approached him, saying to him, Malphona, we would that whatever we ask thou wilt do for us. |

He saith to them, What will you that I should do for you? |

They say to him, Give us that one may sit at thy right hand, and one at thy left, in thy glory. |

But he said to them, You know not what you ask: can you drink the cup that I drink? and (with) the baptism that I am baptized (with) can you be baptized? |

But he said to them: Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup, of which I drink? and to be baptized with the baptism, that I am baptized with? |

They say to him, We can. Jeshu saith to them, The cup that I drink you shall drink; and (with) the baptism that I am baptized (with) you shall be baptized: |

but that you sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, except for those for whom it is prepared. |

but not thus shall it be among you. But if any one among you willeth to be great, let him be to you the servant; |

And they came unto Jirichu. And as Jeshu went forth from Jirichu, he and his disciples and a great multitude, Timai bar Timai, the blind man, was sitting by the side of the way begging. |

And they came to Jericho. And as Jesus went out of Jericho, he and his disciples and a great multitude; Timeus, the son of Timeus, a blind man, was sitting by the side of the way, and begging. |

And he heard that it was Jeshu Natsroia; and he began to cry out, and to say, Son of David, have mercy on me! |

And many rebuked him, that he should be silent: but he cried out the more, saying, Son of David, have mercy on me! |

And Jeshu stood, and commanded that they should bring him. And they called the blind man, saying to him, Be of heart, rise, he calleth thee. |

But he, the blind, loosed his garment, and rose up, (and) came to Jeshu. |

Saith to him Jeshu, What wilt thou that I do for thee? And he, the blind, said to him, Rābi, that I may see. |

Jesus said to him: What wilt thou, that I do for thee? And the blind man said to him: Rabbi, that I may have sight. |

And Jeshu said to him, See: thy faith hath saved thee. And instantly he saw, and he went in the way. |

And Jesus said to him: Go; thy faith hath procured thee life. And immediately his sight was restored; and he followed after him. |
