Zechariah 9

1 God defendeth his Church. 9 Zion is exhorted to rejoice for the coming of Christ, and his peaceable Kingdom. 12 God's promises of victory and defence.

 9:1 The burden 4853b of the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 is against the land 776 of Hadrach 2317, with Damascus 1834 as its resting 4496 place 4496 (for the eyes 5869 of men 120, especially of all 3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel 3478, are toward the LORD 3068),

 9:2 And Hamath 2574 also 1571, which borders 1379 on it; Tyre 6865 and Sidon 6721, though 3588 they are very 3966 wise 2449.

 9:3 For Tyre 6865 built 1129 herself a fortress 4692 And piled 6651 up silver 3701 like dust 6083, And gold 2742d like the mire 2916 of the streets 2351.

 9:4 Behold 2009, the Lord 136 will dispossess 3423 her And cast 5221 her wealth 2428 into the sea 3220; And she will be consumed 398 with fire 784.

 9:5 Ashkelon 831 will see 7200 [it] and be afraid 3372a. Gaza 5804a too will writhe 2342a in great 3966 pain 2342a; Also Ekron 6138, for her expectation 4007 has been 954 confounded 954. Moreover, the king 4428 will perish 6 from Gaza 5804a, And Ashkelon 831 will not be inhabited 3427.

 9:6 And a mongrel 4464 race 4464 will dwell 3427 in Ashdod 795, And I will cut 3772 off 3772 the pride 1347b of the Philistines 6430.

 9:7 And I will remove 5493 their blood 1818 from their mouth 6310 And their detestable 8251 things 8251 from between 996 their teeth 8127. Then they also 1571 will be a remnant 7604 for our God 430, And be like a clan 441b in Judah 3063, And Ekron 6138 like a Jebusite 2983.

 9:8 But I will camp 2583 around My house 1004 because 4480 of an army 4675, Because 4480 of him who passes 5674a by and returns 7725; And no 3808 oppressor 5065 will pass 5674a over 5921 them anymore 5750, For now 6258 I have seen 7200 with My eyes 5869.

 9:9 Rejoice 1523 greatly 3966, O daughter 1323 of Zion 6726! Shout 7321 [in triumph], O daughter 1323 of Jerusalem 3389! Behold 2009, your king 4428 is coming 935 to you; He is just 6662 and endowed 3467 with salvation 3467, Humble 6041, and mounted 7392 on a donkey 2543, Even on a colt 5895, the foal 1121 of a donkey 860.

 9:10 I will cut 3772 off 3772 the chariot 7393 from Ephraim 669 And the horse 5483b from Jerusalem 3389; And the bow 7198 of war 4421 will be cut 3772 off 3772.  9:11 ¶ As for you also 1571, because of the blood 1818 of [My] covenant 1285 with you, I have set 7971 your prisoners 615 free 7971 from the waterless 369 4325 pit 953a.

 9:12 Return 7725 to the stronghold 1225, O prisoners 615 who have the hope 8615b; This very 1571 day 3117 I am declaring 5046 that I will restore 7725 double 4932 to you.

 9:13 For I will bend 1869 Judah 3063 as My bow 7198, I will fill 4390 the bow 7198 with Ephraim 669. And I will stir 5782 up your sons 1121, O Zion 6726, against 5921 your sons 1121, O Greece 3120; And I will make 7760 you like a warrior’s 1368 sword 2719.

 9:14 Then the LORD 3068 will appear 7200 over 5921 them, And His arrow 2671 will go 3318 forth 3318 like lightning 1300; And the Lord 136 GOD 3068 will blow 8628 the trumpet 7782, And will march 1980 in the storm 5591b winds 5591b of the south 8486.

 9:15 The LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 will defend 1598 them. And they will devour 398 and trample 3533 on the sling 7050a stones 68; And they will drink 8354 [and] be boisterous 1993 as with wine 3196; And they will be filled 4390 like a [sacrificial] basin 4219, [Drenched] like the corners 2106 of the altar 4196.

 9:16 And the LORD 3068 their God 430 will save 3467 them in that day 3117 As the flock 6629 of His people 5971a; For [they are as] the stones 68 of a crown 5145, Sparkling 5264 in His land 127.

 9:17 For what 4100 comeliness 2898 and beauty 3308 [will be] theirs! Grain 1715 will make the young 970 men 970 flourish 5107, and new 8492 wine 8492 the virgins 1330.
