Zechariah 11

1 The destruction of Jerusalem. 3 The elect being cared for, the rest are rejected. 10 The staves of Beauty and Bands broken by the rejection of Christ. 15 The type and curse of a foolish shepherd.

 11:1 Open 6605a your doors 1817, O Lebanon 3844, That a fire 784 may feed 398 on your cedars 730.

 11:2 Wail 3213, O cypress 1265, for the cedar 730 has fallen 5307, Because 834 the glorious 117 [trees] have been destroyed 7703; Wail 3213, O oaks 437 of Bashan 1316, For the impenetrable 1219 forest 3293a has come 3381 down 3381.

 11:3 There is a sound 6963 of the shepherds’ 7462a wail 3215, For their glory 155 is ruined 7703; There is a sound 6963 of the young 3715 lions’ 3715 roar 7581, For the pride 1347b of the Jordan 3383 is ruined 7703.

 11:4 ¶ Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 my God 430, “Pasture 7462a the flock 6629 [doomed] to slaughter 2028.

 11:5 “Those who 834 buy 7069 them slay 2026 them and go 816 unpunished 3808 816, and [each of] those who sell 4376 them says 559, ‘Blessed 1288 be the LORD 3068, for I have become 6238 rich 6238!’ And their own shepherds 7462a have 2550 no 3808 pity 2550 on them.

 11:6 “For I will no 3808 longer 5750 have 2550 pity 2550 on the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068; “but behold 2009, I will cause the men 120 to fall 4672, each 376 into another’s 7453 power 3027 and into the power 3027 of his king 4428; and they will strike 3807 the land 776, and I will not deliver 5337 [them] from their power 3027.”

 11:7 ¶ So I pastured 7462a the flock 6629 [doomed] to slaughter 2028, hence 3651 the afflicted 6041 of the flock 6629. And I took 3947 for myself two 8147 staffs 4731: the one 259 I called 7121 Favor 5278 and the other 259 I called 7121 Union 2260c; so I pastured 7462a the flock 6629.

 11:8 Then I annihilated 3582 the three 7969 shepherds 7462a in one 259 month 3391, for my soul 5315 was impatient 7114a with them, and their soul 5315 also 1571 was weary 973a of me.

 11:9 Then I said 559, “I will not pasture 7462a you. What is to die 4191, let it die 4191, and what is to be annihilated 3582, let it be annihilated 3582; and let those who are left 7604 eat 398 one 802 another’s 7468 flesh 1320.”

 11:10 I took 3947 my staff 4731 Favor 5278 and cut 1438 it in pieces 1438, to break 6565a my covenant 1285 which 834 I had made 3772 with all 3605 the peoples 5971a.

 11:11 So it was broken 6565a on that day 3117, and thus 3651 the afflicted 6041 of the flock 6629 who were watching 8104 me realized 3045 that it was the word 1697 of the LORD 3068.

 11:12 I said 559 to them, “If 518 it is good 2896a in your sight 5869, give 3051 [me] my wages 7939; but if 518 not, never 2308 mind 2308!” So they weighed 8254 out thirty 7970 [shekels] of silver 3701 as my wages 7939.

 11:13 Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “Throw 7993 it to the potter 3335, [that] magnificent 145 price 3366 at which 834 I was valued 3365 by them.” So I took 3947 the thirty 7970 [shekels] of silver 3701 and threw 7993 them to the potter 3335 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068.

 11:14 Then I cut 1438 in pieces 1438 my second 8145 staff 4731 Union 2260c, to break 6565a the brotherhood 264 between 996 Judah 3063 and Israel 3478.

 11:15 ¶ The LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “Take 3947 again 5750 for yourself the equipment 3627 of a foolish 196 shepherd 7462a.

 11:16 “For behold 2009, I am going to raise 6965 up a shepherd 7462a in the land 776 who will not care 6485 for the perishing 3582, seek 1245 the scattered 5289, heal 7495 the broken 7665, or sustain 3557 the one standing 5324, but will devour 398 the flesh 1320 of the fat 1277 [sheep] and tear 6561 off 6561 their hoofs 6541.

 11:17 “Woe 1945 to the worthless 457 shepherd 7473 Who leaves 5800a the flock 6629! A sword 2719 will be on his arm 2220 And on his right 3225 eye 5869! His arm 2220 will be totally 3001 withered 3001 And his right 3225 eye 5869 will be blind 3543a.”
