Romans 7

1 No law hath power over a man longer than he liveth. 4 But we are dead to the Law. 7 Yet is not the Law sin, 12 but holy, just, good, 16 as I acknowledge, who am grieved because I cannot keep it.

 7:1 Or 2228 do you not know 50, brethren 80 (for I am speaking 2980 to those who know 1097 the law 3551), that the law 3551 has 2961 jurisdiction 2961 over 2961 a person 444 as long 5550 as he lives 2198?

 7:2 For the married 5220 woman 1135 is bound 1210 by law 3551 to her husband 435 while he is living 2198; but if 1437 her husband 435 dies 599, she is released 2673 from the law 3551 concerning the husband 435.

 7:3 So 686 then 686, if 1437 while her husband 435 is living 2198 she is joined 1096 to another 2087 man 435, she shall be called 5537 an adulteress 3428; but if 1437 her husband 435 dies 599, she is free 1658 from the law 3551, so that she is not an adulteress 3428 though she is joined 1096 to another 2087 man 435.

 7:4 ¶ Therefore 5620, my brethren 80, you also 2532 were made 2289 to die 2289 to the Law 3551 through 1223 the body 4983 of Christ 5547, so 1519 that you might be joined 1096 to another 2087, to Him who was raised 1453 from the dead 3498, in order 2443 that we might bear 2592 fruit 2592 for God 2316.

 7:5 For while 3753 we were in the flesh 4561, the sinful 266 passions 3804, which were [aroused] by the Law 3551, were at work 1754 in the members 3196 of our body to bear 2592 fruit 2592 for death 2288.

 7:6 But now 3570 we have been released 2673 from the Law 3551, having died 599 to that by which 3739 we were bound 2722, so 5620 that we serve 1398 in newness 2538 of the Spirit 4151 and not in oldness 3821 of the letter 1121.

 7:7 ¶ What 5101 shall we say 3004 then 3767? Is the Law 3551 sin 266? May it never 3361 be! On the contrary 235, I would not have come to know 1097 sin 266 except 1508 through 1223 the Law 3551; for I would not have known 3609a about 3609a coveting 1939 if 1487 the Law 3551 had not said 3004, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET 1937.”

 7:8 But sin 266, taking 2983 opportunity 874 through 1223 the commandment 1785, produced 2716 in me coveting 1939 of every 3956 kind 3956; for apart 5565 from the Law 3551 sin 266 [is] dead 3498.

 7:9 I was once 4218 alive 2198 apart 5565 from the Law 3551; but when the commandment 1785 came 2064, sin 266 became 326 alive 326 and I died 599;

 7:10 and this 3778 commandment 1785, which was to result 1519 in life 2222, proved 2147 to result 1519 in death 2288 for me;

 7:11 for sin 266, taking 2983 an opportunity 874 through 1223 the commandment 1785, deceived 1818 me and through 1223 it killed 615 me.

 7:12 So 5620 then 5620, the Law 3551 is holy 40, and the commandment 1785 is holy 40 and righteous 1342 and good 18.

 7:13 ¶ Therefore 3767 did that which 18 is good 18 become 1096 [a cause of] death 2288 for me? May it never 3361 be! Rather 235 it was sin 266, in order 2443 that it might be shown 5316 to be sin 266 by effecting 2716 my death 2288 through 1223 that which 18 is good 18, so 2443 that through 1223 the commandment 1785 sin 266 would become 1096 utterly 5236 sinful 266.

 7:14 ¶ For we know 3609a that the Law 3551 is spiritual 4152, but I am 1510 of flesh 4560, sold 4097 into bondage to sin 266.

 7:15 For what 3739 I am doing 2716, I do not understand 1097; for I am not practicing 4238 what 3739 I [would] like 2309 to [do], but I am doing 4160 the very 3778 thing 3739 I hate 3404.

 7:16 But if 1487 I do 4160 the very 3778 thing 3778 I do not want 2309 [to do], I agree 4852 with the Law 3551, [confessing] that the Law 3551 is good 2570.

 7:17 So 1161 now 3570, no 3765 longer 3765 am I the one doing 2716 it, but sin 266 which dwells 1774 in me.

 7:18 For I know 3609a that nothing 3756 good 18 dwells 3611 in me, that is, in my flesh 4561; for the willing 2309 is present 3873 in me, but the doing 2716 of the good 2570 [is] not.

 7:19 For the good 18 that I want 2309, I do not do 4160, but I practice 4238 the very 3778 evil 2556 that I do not want 2309.

 7:20 But if 1487 I am doing 4160 the very 3778 thing 3778 I do not want 2309, I am no 3765 longer 3765 the one doing 2716 it, but sin 266 which dwells 3611 in me.

 7:21 ¶ I find 2147 then 686 the principle 3551 that evil 2556 is present 3873 in me, the one who wants 2309 to do 4160 good 2570.

 7:22 For I joyfully 4913 concur 4913 with the law 3551 of God 2316 in the inner 2080 man 444,

 7:23 but I see 991 a different 2087 law 3551 in the members 3196 of my body, waging 497 war 497 against 497 the law 3551 of my mind 3563 and making 163 me a prisoner 163 of the law 3551 of sin 266 which is in my members 3196.

 7:24 Wretched 5005 man 444 that I am! Who 5101 will set 4506 me free 4506 from the body 4983 of this 3778 death 2288?

 7:25 Thanks 5485 be to God 2316 through 1223 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 our Lord 2962! So 686 then 686, on the one 3303a hand 3303a I myself 846 with my mind 3563 am serving 1398 the law 3551 of God 2316, but on the other 1161, with my flesh 4561 the law 3551 of sin 266.
