Ezra 5

1 Zerubbabel and Jeshua, incited by Haggai and Zechariah, set forward the building of the Temple. 3 Tatnai and Shethar-boznai could not hinder the Jews. 6 Their letter to Darius against the Jews.

 5:1 When the prophets 5029, Haggai 2292b the prophet 5029 and Zechariah 2148b the son 1247 of Iddo 5714, prophesied 5029 to the Jews 3062 who 1768 were in Judah 3061 and Jerusalem 3390 in the name 8036 of the God 426 of Israel 3479, who was over 5922 them,

 5:11 “Thus 3660 they answered 8421 6600 us, saying 560, ‘We are the servants 5649 of the God 426 of heaven 8065 and earth 772 and are rebuilding 1124 the temple 1005 that was built 1124 many 7690 years 8140 ago 6928, which a great 7229 king 4430 of Israel 3479 built 1124 and finished 3635.

 5:12 ‘But because 4481 1768 our fathers 2 had provoked 7265 the God 426 of heaven 8065 to wrath 7265, He gave 3052 them into the hand 3028 of Nebuchadnezzar 5020 king 4430 of Babylon 895, the Chaldean 3779, [who] destroyed 5642b this 1836 temple 1005 and deported 1541 the people 5972 to Babylon 895.

 5:13 ‘However 1297, in the first 2298 year 8140 of Cyrus 3567 king 4430 of Babylon 895, King 4430 Cyrus 3567 issued 7761 a decree 2942 to rebuild 1124 this 1836 house 1005 of God 426.

 5:14 ‘Also 638 the gold 1722 and silver 3702 utensils 3984 of the house 1005 of God 426 which 1768 Nebuchadnezzar 5020 had taken 5312 from the temple 1965 in Jerusalem 3390, and brought 2987 them to the temple 1965 of Babylon 895, these 1994 King 4430 Cyrus 3567 took 5312 from the temple 1965 of Babylon 895 and they were given 3052 to one whose name 8036 was Sheshbazzar 8340, whom 1768 he had appointed 7761 governor 6347.

 5:15 ‘He said 560 to him, “Take 5376 these 429 utensils 3984, go 236 [and] deposit 5182 them in the temple 1965 in Jerusalem 3390 and let the house 1005 of God 426 be rebuilt 1124 in its place 870.”

 5:16 ‘Then 116 that Sheshbazzar 8340 came 858 [and] laid 3052 the foundations 787 of the house 1005 of God 426 in Jerusalem 3390; and from then 116 until 5705 now 3705 it has been under 1124 construction 1124 and it is not [yet] completed 8000.’

 5:17 “Now 3705 if 2006 it pleases 2869 the king 4430, let a search 1240 be conducted 1240 in the king’s 4430 treasure 1596 house 1005, which 1768 is there 8536 in Babylon 895, if 2006 it be that a decree 2942 was issued 7761 by King 4430 Cyrus 3567 to rebuild 1124 this 1791 house 1005 of God 426 at Jerusalem 3390; and let the king 4430 send 7972 to us his decision 7466b concerning 5922 this 1836 [matter].”
