Amos 6

1 The wantonness of Israel, 7 shall be plagued with desolation, 12 and their incorrigibleness.

 6:1 Woe 1945 to those 7600 who are at ease 7600 in Zion 6726 And to those who [feel] secure 982 in the mountain 2022 of Samaria 8111, The distinguished 5344a men of the foremost 7225 of nations 1471, To whom 1992a the house 1004 of Israel 3478 comes 935.

 6:2 Go 5674a over 5674a to Calneh 3641b and look 7200, And go 1980 from there 8033 to Hamath 2574 the great 7227a, Then go 3381 down 3381 to Gath 1661 of the Philistines 6430. Are they better 2896a than 4480 these 428 kingdoms 4467, Or 518 is their territory 1366 greater 7227a than 4480 yours?

 6:3 Do you put 5077 off 5077 the day 3117 of calamity 7451b, And would you bring 5066 near 5066 the seat 7675 of violence 2555?

 6:4 ¶ Those who recline 7901 on beds 4296 of ivory 8127 And sprawl 5628 on their couches 6210, And eat 398 lambs 3733c from the flock 6629 And calves 5695 from the midst 8432 of the stall 4770,

 6:5 Who improvise 6527 to the sound 6310 of the harp 5035b, [And] like David 1732 have composed 2803 songs 7892a for themselves,

 6:6 Who drink 8354 wine 3196 from sacrificial 4219 bowls 4219 While they anoint 4886 themselves with the finest 7225 of oils 8081, Yet they have not grieved 2470a over 5921 the ruin 7667 of Joseph 3130.

 6:7 Therefore 3651, they will now 6258 go 1540 into exile 1540 at the head 7218 of the exiles 1540, And the sprawlers’ 5628 banqueting 4798 will pass 5493 away 5493.

 6:8 ¶ The Lord 136 GOD 3068 has sworn 7650 by Himself 5315, the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts 6635 has declared 5002: “I loathe 8374 the arrogance 1347b of Jacob 3290, And detest 8130 his citadels 759; Therefore I will deliver 5462 up [the] city 5892b and all 4393 it contains 4393.”

 6:9 And it will be, if 518 ten 6235 men 376 are left 3498 in one 259 house 1004, they will die 4191.

 6:10 Then one’s uncle 1730, or his undertaker 8313, will lift 5375 him up to carry 3318 out [his] bones 6106 from the house 1004, and he will say 559 to the one who 834 is in the innermost 3411 part 3411 of the house 1004, “Is anyone else 5750 with you?” And that one will say 559, “No 657 one 657.” Then he will answer 559, “Keep 2013 quiet 2013. For the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 is not to be mentioned 2142.”

 6:11 For behold 2009, the LORD 3068 is going to command 6680 that the great 1419 house 1004 be smashed 5221 to pieces 7447b and the small 6996b house 1004 to fragments 1233.

 6:12 ¶ Do horses 5483b run 7323 on rocks 5553? Or 518 does one plow 2790a them with oxen 1241? Yet 3588 you have turned 2015 justice 4941 into poison 7219 And the fruit 6529 of righteousness 6666 into wormwood 3939,

 6:13 You who rejoice 8056 in Lodebar 3810, And say 559, “Have we not by our [own] strength 2392 taken 3947 Karnaim 7163b for ourselves?”

 6:14 “For behold 2009, I am going to raise 6965 up a nation 1471 against 5921 you, O house 1004 of Israel 3478,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts 6635, “And they will afflict 3905 you from the entrance 935 of Hamath 2574 To the brook 5158a of the Arabah 6160.”
