2 Corinthians 7

1 He proceedeth in exhorting them to purity of life, 2 and to bear him like affection as he doth to them. 3 Whereof lest he might seem to doubt, he declareth what comfort he took in his afflictions, by the report which Titus gave of their godly sorrow, which his former epistle had wrought in them, 13 and of their lovingkindness and obedience towards Titus, answerable to his former boastings of them.

7:1 Therefore 3767, having 2192 these 3778 promises 1860, beloved 27, let us cleanse 2511 ourselves 1438 from all 3956 defilement 3436 of flesh 4561 and spirit 4151, perfecting 2005 holiness 42 in the fear 5401 of God 2316.

7:2 ¶ Make 5562 room 5562 for us [in your hearts]; we wronged 91 no 3762 one 3762, we corrupted 5351 no 3762 one 3762, we took 4122 advantage 4122 of no 3762 one 3762.

7:3 I do not speak 3004 to condemn 2633 you, for I have said 4275b before 4275b that you are in our hearts 2588 to die 4880 together 4880 and to live 4800 together 4800.

7:4 Great 4183 is my confidence 3954 in you; great 4183 is my boasting 2746a on your behalf 5228. I am filled 4137 with comfort 3874; I am overflowing 5248 with joy 5479 in all 3956 our affliction 2347.

7:5 ¶ For even 2532 when we came 2064 into Macedonia 3109 our flesh 4561 had 2192 no 3762 rest 425, but we were afflicted 2346 on every 3956 side: conflicts 3163 without 1855, fears 5401 within 2081.

7:6 But God 2316, who comforts 3870 the depressed 5011, comforted 3870 us by the coming 3952 of Titus 5103;

7:7 and not only 3440 by his coming 3952, but also 2532 by the comfort 3874 with which 3739 he was comforted 3870 in you, as he reported 312 to us your longing 1972, your mourning 3602, your zeal 2205b for me; so 5620 that I rejoiced 5463 even more 3123.

7:8 For though 1487 2532 I caused 3076 you sorrow 3076 by my letter 1992, I do not regret 3338 it; though 1487 2532 I did regret 3338 it—[for] I see 991 that that letter 1992 caused 3076 you sorrow 3076, though 1487 2532 only 2532 for a while 5610—

7:9 I now 3568 rejoice 5463, not that you were made 3076 sorrowful 3076, but that you were made 3076 sorrowful 3076 to [the point of] repentance 3341; for you were made 3076 sorrowful 3076 according 2596 to [the will of] God 2316, so 2443 that you might not suffer 2210 loss 2210 in anything 3367 through 1537 us.

7:10 For the sorrow 3077 that is according 2596 to [the will of] God 2316 produces 2038b a repentance 3341 without 278 regret 278, [leading] to salvation 4991, but the sorrow 3077 of the world 2889 produces 2716 death 2288.

7:11 For behold 2400 what 4214 earnestness 4710 this 3778 very 846 thing 846, this 3588 godly 2596 2316 sorrow 3076, has produced 2716 in you: what 235 vindication 627 of yourselves, what 235 indignation 24, what 235 fear 5401, what 235 longing 1972, what 235 zeal 2205b, what 235 avenging 1557 of wrong 1557! In everything 3956 you demonstrated 4921 yourselves 1438 to be innocent 53 in the matter 4229.

7:12 So 686 although 1487 2532 I wrote 1125 to you, [it was] not for the sake 1752a of the offender 91 nor 3761 for the sake 1752a of the one offended 91, but that your earnestness 4710 on our behalf 5228 might be made 5319 known 5319 to you in the sight 1799 of God 2316.

7:13 For this 3778 reason 1223 we have been comforted 3870. ¶ And besides 1909 our comfort 3874, we rejoiced 5463 even 4057 much 3123 more 4057 for the joy 5479 of Titus 5103, because 3754 his spirit 4151 has been refreshed 373 by you all 3956.

7:14 For if 1487 in anything 5100 I have boasted 2744 to him about 5228 you, I was not put 2617b to shame 2617b; but as we spoke 2980 all 3956 things 3956 to you in truth 225, so 3779 also 2532 our boasting 2746a before 1909 Titus 5103 proved 1096 to be [the] truth 225.

7:15 His affection 4698 abounds 4053 all 4053 the more 4053 toward 1519 you, as he remembers 363 the obedience 5218 of you all 3956, how 5613 you received 1209 him with fear 5401 and trembling 5156.
