2 Corinthians 4

1 He declareth how he hath used all sincerity and faithful diligence in preaching the Gospel, 7 and how the troubles and persecutions which he daily endured for the same did redound to the praise of God's power, 12 to the benefit of the Church, 16 and to the apostle's own eternal glory.

 4:1 Therefore 1223 3778, since we have 2192 this 3778 ministry 1248, as we received 1653 mercy 1653, we do not lose 1457b heart 1457b,

 4:2 but we have renounced 550 the things 2927 hidden 2927 because of shame 152, not walking 4043 in craftiness 3834 or 3366 adulterating 1389 the word 3056 of God 2316, but by the manifestation 5321 of truth 225 commending 4921 ourselves 1438 to every 3956 man’s 444 conscience 4893 in the sight 1799 of God 2316.

 4:3 And even 2532 if 1487 our gospel 2098 is veiled 2572, it is veiled 2572 to those 3588 who are perishing 622,

 4:4 in whose 3739 case 1722 the god 2316 of this 3778 world 165 has blinded 5186 the minds 3540 of the unbelieving 571 so 1519 that they might not see 826 the light 5462 of the gospel 2098 of the glory 1391 of Christ 5547, who 3739 is the image 1504 of God 2316.

 4:5 For we do not preach 2784 ourselves 1438 but Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 as Lord 2962, and ourselves 1438 as your bond-servants 1401 for Jesus’ 2424 sake 1223.

 4:6 For God 2316, who said 3004, “Light 5457 shall shine 2989 out of darkness 4655,” is the One who 3739 has shone 2989 in our hearts 2588 to give the Light 5462 of the knowledge 1108 of the glory 1391 of God 2316 in the face 4383 of Christ 5547.

 4:7 ¶ But we have 2192 this 3778 treasure 2344 in earthen 3749 vessels 4632, so 2443 that the surpassing 5236 greatness 5236 of the power 1411 will be of God 2316 and not from ourselves 1473;

 4:8 [we are] afflicted 2346 in every 3956 way 3956, but not crushed 4729; perplexed 639, but not despairing 1820;

 4:9 persecuted 1377, but not forsaken 1459; struck 2598 down 2598, but not destroyed 622;

 4:10 always 3842 carrying 4064 about 4064 in the body 4983 the dying 3500 of Jesus 2424, so 2443 that the life 2222 of Jesus 2424 also 2532 may be manifested 5319 in our body 4983.

 4:11 For we who live 2198 are constantly 104 being delivered 3860 over 3860 to death 2288 for Jesus’ 2424 sake 1223, so 2443 that the life 2222 of Jesus 2424 also 2532 may be manifested 5319 in our mortal 2349 flesh 4561.

 4:12 So 5620 death 2288 works 1754 in us, but life 2222 in you.

 4:13 ¶ But having 2192 the same 846 spirit 4151 of faith 4102, according 2596 to what is written 1125, “I BELIEVED 4100, THEREFORE 1352 I SPOKE 2980,” we also 2532 believe 4100, therefore 1352 we also 2532 speak 2980,

 4:14 knowing 3609a that He who raised 1453 the Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 will raise 1453 us also 2532 with Jesus 2424 and will present 3936 us with you.

 4:15 For all 3956 things 3956 [are] for your sakes 1223, so 2443 that the grace 5485 which is spreading 4121 to more 4183 and more people may cause 4052 the giving 2169 of thanks 2169 to abound 4052 to the glory 1391 of God 2316.

 4:16 ¶ Therefore 1352 we do not lose 1457b heart 1457b, but though 1487 2532 our outer 1854 man 444 is decaying 1311, yet 235 our inner 2080 man 2080 is being renewed 341 day 2250 by day 2250.

 4:17 For momentary 3910, light 1645 affliction 2347 is producing 2716 for us an eternal 166 weight 922 of glory 1391 far 5236 beyond 1519 all 5236 comparison 5236,

 4:18 while we look 4648 not at the things which are seen 991, but at the things which are not seen 991; for the things which are seen 991 are temporal 4340, but the things which are not seen 991 are eternal 166.
