וַיִּקַּח עֲשָׂרָה אֲנָשִׁים מִזִּקְנֵי הָעִיר וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁבוּ־פֹה וַיֵּשֵׁבוּ

וַיֹּאמֶר לַגֹּאֵל חֶלְקַת הַשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר לְאָחִינוּ לֶאֱלִימֶלֶךְ מָכְרָה נָעֳמִי הַשָּׁבָה מִשְּׂדֵה מוֹאָב

 4:3 And he said 559 z8799 unto the kinsman, 1350 z8802 No`ómî נָעֳמִי, 5281 that is come again 7725 z8804 out of the country 7704 x4480 of Mô´äv מוֹאָב, 4124 selleth 4376 z8804 a parcel 2513 of land, 7704 which x834 [was] our brother 251 ´Élîmeleȼ's אֱלִימֶלֶך: 458

וַאֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי אֶגְלֶה אָזְנְךָ לֵאמֹר קְנֵה נֶגֶד הַיֹּשְׁבִים וְנֶגֶד זִקְנֵי עַמִּי אִם־תִּגְאַל גְּאָל וְאִם־לֹא יִגְאַל הַגִּידָה לִּי *וְאֵדַע [וְאֵדְעָה] כִּי אֵין זוּלָתְךָ לִגְאוֹל וְאָנֹכִי אַחֲרֶיךָ וַיֹּאמֶר אָנֹכִי אֶגְאָל

 4:4 And I x589 thought 559 z8804 to advertise 1540 241 z8799 thee, saying, 559 z8800 Buy 7069 z8798 [it] before x5048 the inhabitants, 3427 z8802 and before x5048 the elders 2205 of my people. 5971 If x518 thou wilt redeem 1350 z8799 [it], redeem 1350 z8798 [it]: but if x518 thou wilt not x3808 redeem 1350 z8799 [it, then] tell 5046 z8685 me, that I may know: 3045 z8799 for x3588 [there is] none x369 to redeem 1350 z8800 [it] beside 2108 thee; and I x595 [am] after 310 thee. וַיֹּאמֶר בֹּעַז בְּיוֹם־קְנוֹתְךָ הַשָּׂדֶה מִיַּד נָעֳמִי וּמֵאֵת רוּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּה אֵשֶׁת־הַמֵּת *קָנִיתִי [קָנִיתָה] לְהָקִים שֵׁם־הַמֵּת עַל־נַחֲלָתוֹ

 4:5 waYomer Boaz B'yôm-q'nôt'khä haSädeh miYad näómiy ûmëët rût haMôáviYäh ëshet-haMët *qäniytiy [qäniytäh] l'häqiym shëm-haMët al-nachálätô

 4:5 Then said 559 z8799 Bö`az בֹּעַז, 1162 What day 3117 thou buyest 7069 z8800 the field 7704 of the hand 3027 x4480 of No`ómî נָעֳמִי, 5281 thou must buy 7069 z8804 [it] also of x4480 x854 Rûŧ רוּת 7327 the Mô´áviyyà מוֹאֲבִיָּה, 4125 the wife 802 of the dead, 4191 z8801 to raise up 6965 z8687 the name 8034 of the dead 4191 z8801 upon x5921 his inheritance. 5159

וַיֹּאמֶר הַגֹּאֵל לֹא אוּכַל *לִגְאוֹל־ [לִגְאָל־]לִי פֶּן־אַשְׁחִית אֶת־נַחֲלָתִי גְּאַל־לְךָ אַתָּה אֶת־גְּאֻלָּתִי כִּי לֹא־אוּכַל לִגְאֹל

 4:6 waYomer haGoël lo ûkhal *lig'ôl- [lig'äl-]liy Pen-ash'chiyt et-nachálätiy G'al-l'khä aTäh et-G'uLätiy Kiy lo-ûkhal lig'ol

 4:6 ¶ And the kinsman 1350 z8802 said, 559 z8799 I cannot 3201 z8799 x3808 redeem 1350 z8800 [it] for myself, lest x6435 I mar 7843 z8686 x853 mine own inheritance: 5159 redeem 1350 z8798 thou x859 x853 my right 1353 to thyself; for x3588 I cannot 3201 z8799 x3808 redeem 1350 z8800 [it].

וְזֹאת לְפָנִים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל עַל־הַגְּאוּלָּה וְעַל־הַתְּמוּרָה לְקַיֵּם כָּל־דָּבָר שָׁלַף אִישׁ נַעֲלוֹ וְנָתַן לְרֵעֵהוּ וְזֹאת הַתְּעוּדָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל

 4:7 w'zot l'fäniym B'yis'räël al-haG'ûLäh w'al-haT'mûräh l'qaYëm Käl-Dävär shälaf iysh naálô w'nätan l'rëëhû w'zot haT'ûdäh B'yis'räël

 4:7 Now this x2063 [was the manner] in former time 6440 in Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 concerning x5921 redeeming 1353 and concerning x5921 changing, 8545 for to confirm 6965 z8763 all x3605 things; 1697 a man 376 plucked off 8025 z8804 his shoe, 5275 and gave 5414 z8804 [it] to his neighbour: 7453 and this x2063 [was] a testimony 8584 in Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478

וַיֹּאמֶר הַגֹּאֵל לְבֹעַז קְנֵה־לָךְ וַיִּשְׁלֹף נַעֲלוֹ

 4:8 Therefore the kinsman 1350 z8802 said 559 z8799 unto Bö`az בֹּעַז, 1162 Buy 7069 z8798 [it] for thee. So he drew off 8025 z8799 his shoe. 5275

וַיֹּאמֶר בֹּעַז לַזְּקֵנִים וְכָל־הָעָם עֵדִים אַתֶּם הַיּוֹם כִּי קָנִיתִי אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר לֶאֱלִימֶלֶךְ וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר לְכִלְיוֹן וּמַחְלוֹן מִיַּד נָעֳמִי

 4:9 waYomer Boaz laZ'qëniym w'khäl-hääm ëdiym aTem haYôm Kiy qäniytiy et-Käl-ásher leéliymelekh' w'ët Käl-ásher l'khil'yôn ûmach'lôn miYad näómiy

 4:9 ¶ And Bö`az בֹּעַז 1162 said 559 z8799 unto the elders, 2205 and [unto] all x3605 the people, 5971 Ye x859 [are] witnesses 5707 this day, 3117 that x3588 I have bought 7069 z8804 x853 all x3605 that x834 [was] ´Élîmeleȼ's אֱלִימֶלֶך, 458 and all x3605 that x834 [was] Cilyôn's כִּליוֹן 3630 and Maçlôn's מַחלוֹן, 4248 of the hand 3027 x4480 of No`ómî נָעֳמִי. 5281

וְגַם אֶת־רוּת הַמֹּאֲבִיָּה אֵשֶׁת מַחְלוֹן קָנִיתִי לִי לְאִשָּׁה לְהָקִים שֵׁם־הַמֵּת עַל־נַחֲלָתוֹ וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת שֵׁם־הַמֵּת מֵעִם אֶחָיו וּמִשַּׁעַר מְקוֹמוֹ עֵדִים אַתֶּם הַיּוֹם

 4:10 w'gam et-rût haMoáviYäh ëshet mach'lôn qäniytiy liy l'iSHäh l'häqiym shëm-haMët al-nachálätô w'lo-yiKärët shëm-haMët mëim echäyw ûmiSHaar m'qômô ëdiym aTem haYôm

 4:10 Moreover x1571 x853 Rûŧ רוּת 7327 the Mô´áviyyà מוֹאֲבִיָּה, 4125 the wife 802 of Maçlôn מַחלוֹן, 4248 have I purchased 7069 z8804 to be my wife, 802 to raise up 6965 z8687 the name 8034 of the dead 4191 z8801 upon x5921 his inheritance, 5159 that the name 8034 of the dead 4191 z8801 be not x3808 cut off 3772 z8735 from among 5973 x4480 his brethren, 251 and from the gate 8179 x4480 of his place: 4725 ye x859 [are] witnesses 5707 this day. 3117

וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָּל־הָעָם אֲשֶׁר־בַּשַּׁעַר וְהַזְּקֵנִים עֵדִים יִתֵּן יְהוָה אֶת־הָאִשָּׁה הַבָּאָה אֶל־בֵּיתֶךָ כְּרָחֵל וּכְלֵאָה אֲשֶׁר בָּנוּ שְׁתֵּיהֶם אֶת־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וַעֲשֵׂה־חַיִל בְּאֶפְרָתָה וּקְרָא־שֵׁם בְּבֵית לָחֶם

וִיהִי בֵיתְךָ כְּבֵית פֶּרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָה תָמָר לִיהוּדָה מִן־הַזֶּרַע אֲשֶׁר יִתֵּן יְהוָה לְךָ מִן־הַנַּעֲרָה הַזֹּאת

 4:12 wiyhiy vëyt'khä K'vëyt Peretz ásher-yäl'däh tämär liyhûdäh min-haZera ásher yiTën y'hwäh l'khä min-haNaáräh haZot

 4:12 And let thy house 1004 be x1961 like the house 1004 of Perex פֶּרֶץ, 6557 whom x834 Tämär תָּמָר 8559 bare 3205 z8804 unto Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה, 3063 of x4480 the seed 2233 which x834 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 shall give 5414 z8799 thee of x4480 this x2063 young woman. 5291

וַיִּקַּח בֹּעַז אֶת־רוּת וַתְּהִי־לוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַיָּבֹא אֵלֶיהָ וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה לָהּ הֵרָיוֹן וַתֵּלֶד בֵּן

 4:13 ¶ So Bö`az בֹּעַז 1162 took 3947 z8799 x853 Rûŧ רוּת, 7327 and she was x1961 his wife: 802 and when he went x935 in y935 z8799 unto x413 her, Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 gave 5414 z8799 her conception, 2032 and she bare 3205 z8799 a son. 1121

וַתֹּאמַרְנָה הַנָּשִׁים אֶל־נָעֳמִי בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא הִשְׁבִּית לָךְ גֹּאֵל הַיּוֹם וְיִקָּרֵא שְׁמוֹ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל

 4:14 waTomar'näh haNäshiym el-näómiy Bärûkh' y'hwäh ásher lo hish'Biyt läkh' Goël haYôm w'yiQärë sh'mô B'yis'räël

 4:14 And the women 802 said 559 z8799 unto x413 No`ómî נָעֳמִי, 5281 Blessed 1288 z8803 [be] Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 which x834 hath not x3808 left 7673 z8689 thee this day 3117 without a kinsman, 1350 z8802 that his name 8034 may be famous 7121 z8735 in Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478

וְהָיָה לָךְ לְמֵשִׁיב נֶפֶשׁ וּלְכַלְכֵּל אֶת־שֵׂיבָתֵךְ כִּי כַלָּתֵךְ אֲשֶׁר־אֲהֵבַתֶךְ יְלָדַתּוּ אֲשֶׁר־הִיא טוֹבָה לָךְ מִשִּׁבְעָה בָּנִים

 4:15 w'häyäh läkh' l'mëshiyv nefesh ûl'khal'Kël et-sëyvätëkh' Kiy khaLätëkh' ásher-áhëvatekh' y'lädaTû ásher-hiy ţôväh läkh' miSHiv'äh Bäniym

 4:15 And he shall be x1961 unto thee a restorer 7725 z8688 of [thy] life, 5315 and a nourisher 3557 z8771 of x853 thine old age: 7872 for x3588 thy daughter in law, 3618 which x834 loveth 157 z8804 thee, which x834 is better 2896 to thee than seven 7651 x4480 sons, 1121 hath born 3205 z8804 him.

וַתִּקַּח נָעֳמִי אֶת־הַיֶּלֶד וַתְּשִׁתֵהוּ בְחֵיקָהּ וַתְּהִי־לוֹ לְאֹמֶנֶת

 4:16 waTiQach näómiy et-haYeled waT'shitëhû v'chëyqäH waT'hiy-lô l'omenet

 4:16 And No`ómî נָעֳמִי 5281 took 3947 z8799 x853 the child, 3206 and laid 7896 z8799 it in her bosom, 2436 and became x1961 nurse 539 z8802 unto it.

וַתִּקְרֶאנָה לוֹ הַשְּׁכֵנוֹת שֵׁם לֵאמֹר יֻלַּד־בֵּן לְנָעֳמִי וַתִּקְרֶאנָה שְׁמוֹ עוֹבֵד הוּא אֲבִי־יִשַׁי אֲבִי דָוִד פ

 4:17 waTiq'renäh lô haSH'khënôt shëm lëmor yuLad-Bën l'näómiy waTiq'renäh sh'mô ôvëd hû áviy-yishay áviy däwid f

 4:17 And the women her neighbours 7934 gave 7121 z8799 it a name, 8034 saying, 559 z8800 There is a son 1121 born 3205 z8795 to No`ómî נָעֳמִי; 5281 and they called 7121 z8799 his name 8034 `Ôvëđ עוֹבֵד: 5744 he x1931 [is] the father 1 of Yišay יִשַׁי, 3448 the father 1 of Däwiđ דָּוִד. 1732

וְאֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדוֹת פָּרֶץ פֶּרֶץ הוֹלִיד אֶת־חֶצְרוֹן

וְחֶצְרוֹן הוֹלִיד אֶת־רָם וְרָם הוֹלִיד אֶת־עַמִּינָדָב

וְעַמִּינָדָב הוֹלִיד אֶת־נַחְשׁוֹן וְנַחְשׁוֹן הוֹלִיד אֶת־שַׂלְמָה

 4:20 w'aMiynädäv hôliyd et-nach'shôn w'nach'shôn hôliyd et-sal'mäh

וְשַׂלְמוֹן הוֹלִיד אֶת־בֹּעַז וּבֹעַז הוֹלִיד אֶת־עוֹבֵד
