12:1 ¶
BUT concerning spirituals, my brethren, I wish you to know |
|
12:1
And concerning spirituals, my brethren, I would have you know, |
12:2
that you were Heathens, and unto idols which have no voice you were led without discernment. |
|
12:2
that ye have been pagans; and have been, without distinction, led away after idols, in which there is no speech. |
12:3
I therefore make known to you, that there is no man who by the Spirit of Aloha speaketh, and saith that Jeshu is accursed; and no man also can say that Jeshu is the Lord unless by the Spirit of Holiness. |
|
12:3
I therefore inform you, that there is no man, that speaketh by the Spirit of God, who saith that Jesus is accursed: neither can a man say that Jesus is the Lord, except by the Holy Spirit. |
12:4
Now, there are distributions of gifts, but one is the Spirit; |
|
12:4
Now there are diversities of gifts; but the Spirit is one. |
12:5
and there are distributions of ministries, but one is the Lord; |
|
12:5
And there are diversities of ministrations; but the Lord is one. |
12:6
and distributions of powers, but one is Aloha, who worketh all in every man. |
|
12:6
And there are diversities of energies; but God, who worketh all in all men, is one. |
12:7
But to each is given (such) a revelation of the Spirit as is profitable to him. |
|
12:7
And to each man, there is given a manifestation of the Spirit, that it may aid him. |
12:8
To one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, but to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; |
|
12:8
To one, by the Spirit, there is given a word of wisdom; and to another, by the same Spirit, there is given a word of knowledge: |
12:9
and to another, faith by the same Spirit; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; |
|
12:9
to another, by the same Spirit, faith: to another, by the same Spirit, gifts of healing: |
12:10
but to another, powers; to another, prophecy; to another, the discernment of spirits; but to another, kinds of tongues; and to another, the interpretation of tongues. |
|
12:10
and to another, miracles: and to another, prophecy: and to another, the discerning of spirits: and to another, [divers] kinds of tongues: and to another, the interpretation of tongues. |
12:11
But all these one Spirit effecteth, and divideth unto every man as he willeth. |
|
12:11
But all these, worketh that one Spirit; and he distributeth to every one as he pleaseth. |
12:12
For, as the body is one, and in it are many members, but all the members of the body, though many, are one body; so also is the Meshiha. |
|
12:12
For as the body is one, and in it are many members; and all those members of the body, though many, are one body; so also is the Messiah. |
12:13
For we all by one Spirit into one body are baptized; whether Jihudoyee or Aramoyee; whether servants or sons of freedom; and all of us have imbibed one Spirit. |
|
12:13
For all of us, likewise, by one Spirit, have been baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or free; and all of us have drinked in one Spirit. |
12:14
For the body also is not one member, but many. |
|
12:14
For a body also, is not one member, but many. |
12:15
For if the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body itself, would it therefore not be of the body itself? |
|
12:15
For if the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it, on that account, not of the body? |
12:16
And if the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body itself, would it therefore not be of the body itself? |
|
12:16
Or if the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it, on that account, not of the body? |
12:17
For if the whole body were the eye, where would be the hearing? And if the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? |
|
12:17
And if the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? Or if it were all hearing, where would be the smelling? |
12:18
But now hath Aloha set all the members severally in the body as he willed. |
|
12:18
But now hath God placed every one of the members in the body, according to his pleasure. |
12:19
But if all were one member, where would be the body? |
|
12:19
And if they were all one member, where would be the body? |
12:20
But now the members are many, but the body one. |
|
12:20
But now they are many members, yet but one body. |
12:21
The eye is not able to say to the hand, Thou art not needful to me; nor is the hand able to say to the feet, You are not needful to me. |
|
12:21
The eye cannot say to the hand, Thou art not needful to me: nor can the head say to the feet, Ye are not needful to me. |
12:22
But those members which are considered to be feeble, of them is the more especial need; |
|
12:22
But rather, those members which are accounted feeble, are indispensable. |
12:23
and those which we consider contemptible in the body, to these the more we increase the honour; and on those which are of shame we bestow the greater decoration. |
|
12:23
And those which we think dishonorable in the body, on them we heap more honor; and those that are uncomely, on them we put the more decoration. |
12:24
But those members that are honourable in us have no need of adornment: but Aloha hath contempered the body, and given the more honour to the member which is inconsiderable; |
|
12:24
For the honorable members in us, have no need of honor: for God hath tempered the body, and given more honor to the member which is inferior; |
12:25
that there should be no divisions in the body, but all the members equally one of the other should have care: |
|
12:25
that there might be no disunion in the body, but that all the members, equally, might care for one another; |
12:26
as that when one member shall be diseased, all may suffer; and if one member be glorified, all the members may be glorified. |
|
12:26
so that, when one member is in pain, they will all sympathize; and if one member is exalted, all the members will be exalted. |
12:27
But you are the body of the Meshiha, and members in your place. |
|
12:27
Now ye are the body of Messiah, and members in your place. |
12:28 ¶
FOR Aloha hath placed in the church, first, apostles; after them, prophets; after them, teachers; after them, workers of miracles; after them, gifts of healing, and helpers, and leaders, and kinds of tongues. |
|
12:28
For God hath placed in his church, first, legates; after them, prophets; after them, teachers; after them, workers of miracles; after them, the gifts of healing, and helpers, and leaders, and [various] kinds of tongues. |
12:29
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? |
|
12:29
Are they all legates? Are they all prophets? Are they all teachers? Are they all workers of miracles? |
12:30
Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues, or do all interpret? |
|
12:30
Have all of them the gifts of healing? Do they all speak with tongues? Or do they all interpret? |
12:31
But if you are emulous of great gifts, I will yet show you a way more admirable. |
|
12:31
And if ye are emulous of the superior gifts, on the other hand, I show to you a better way. |
