Galatians 3

1 He asketh what moved them to leave the faith, and hang upon the Law? 6 They that believe are justified, 9 and blessed with Abraham. 10 And this he sheweth by many reasons.

 3:1 You foolish 453 Galatians 1052, who 5101 has bewitched 940 you, before 2596 whose 3739 eyes 3788 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 was publicly 4270 portrayed 4270 [as] crucified 4717?

 3:2 This 3778 is the only 3441 thing 3441 I want 2309 to find 3129 out from you: did you receive 2983 the Spirit 4151 by the works 2041 of the Law 3551, or 2228 by hearing 189 with faith 4102?

 3:3 Are you so 3779 foolish 453? Having begun 1728 by the Spirit 4151, are you now 3568 being perfected 2005 by the flesh 4561?

 3:4 Did you suffer 3958 so 5118 many 5118 things 5118 in vain 1500—if 1487 indeed 1065 2532 it was in vain 1500?

 3:5 So 3767 then 3767, does He who provides 2023 you with the Spirit 4151 and works 1754 miracles 1411 among 1722 you, do it by the works 2041 of the Law 3551, or 2228 by hearing 189 with faith 4102?

 3:6 ¶ Even 2531a so 2531a Abraham 11 BELIEVED 4100 GOD 2316, AND IT WAS RECKONED 3049 TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS 1343.

 3:7 Therefore 686, be sure 1097 that it is those 3588 who are of faith 4102 who 3778 are sons 5207 of Abraham 11.

 3:8 The Scripture 1124, foreseeing 4275a that God 2316 would justify 1344 the Gentiles 1484 by faith 4102, preached 4283 the gospel 4283 beforehand 4283 to Abraham 11, [saying], “ALL 3956 THE NATIONS 1484 WILL BE BLESSED 1757 IN YOU.”

 3:9 So 5620 then 5620 those 3588 who are of faith 4102 are blessed 2127 with Abraham 11, the believer 4103.

 3:10 ¶ For as many 3745 as are of the works 2041 of the Law 3551 are under 5259 a curse 2671; for it is written 1125, “CURSED 1944 IS EVERYONE 3956 WHO 3739 DOES NOT ABIDE 1696 BY ALL 3956 THINGS 3956 WRITTEN 1125 IN THE BOOK 975 OF THE LAW 3551, TO PERFORM 4160 THEM.”

 3:11 Now 1161 that no 3762 one 3762 is justified 1344 by the Law 3551 before 3844 God 2316 is evident 1212; for, “THE RIGHTEOUS 1342 MAN 1342 SHALL LIVE 2198 BY FAITH 4102.”

 3:12 However 1161, the Law 3551 is not of faith 4102; on the contrary 235, “HE WHO PRACTICES 4160 THEM SHALL LIVE 2198 BY THEM.”

 3:13 Christ 5547 redeemed 1805 us from the curse 2671 of the Law 3551, having become 1096 a curse 2671 for us—for it is written 1125, “CURSED 1944 IS EVERYONE 3956 WHO HANGS 2910 ON A TREE 3586”—

 3:14 in order 2443 that in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 the blessing 2129 of Abraham 11 might come 1096 to the Gentiles 1484, so 2443 that we would receive 2983 the promise 1860 of the Spirit 4151 through 1223 faith 4102.

 3:15 ¶ Brethren 80, I speak 3004 in terms 2596 of human 444 relations 444: even 3676 though 3676 it is [only] a man’s 444 covenant 1242, yet 3676 when it has been ratified 2964, no 3762 one 3762 sets 114 it aside 114 or 2228 adds 1928 conditions 1928 to it.

 3:16 Now 1161 the promises 1860 were spoken 3004 to Abraham 11 and to his seed 4690. He does not say 3004, “And to seeds 4690,” as [referring] to many 4183, but [rather] to one 1520, “And to your seed 4690,” that is, Christ 5547.

 3:17 What I am saying 3004 is this 3778: the Law 3551, which came 1096 four 5071 hundred 5071 and thirty 5144b years 2094 later 3326, does not invalidate 208 a covenant 1242 previously 4300 ratified 4300 by God 2316, so 1519 as to nullify 2673 the promise 1860.

 3:18 For if 1487 the inheritance 2817 is based 1537 on law 3551, it is no 3765 longer 3765 based 1537 on a promise 1860; but God 2316 has granted 5483 it to Abraham 11 by means 1223 of a promise 1860.

 3:19 ¶ Why 5101 the Law 3551 then 3767? It was added 4369 because 5484 of transgressions 3847, having been ordained 1299 through 1223 angels 32a by the agency 5495 of a mediator 3316, until 891 the seed 4690 would come 2064 to whom 3739 the promise 1861 had been made 1861.

 3:20 Now 1161 a mediator 3316 is not for one 1520 [party only]; whereas 1161 God 2316 is [only] one 1520.

 3:21 Is the Law 3551 then 3767 contrary 2596 to the promises 1860 of God 2316? May it never 3361 be! For if 1487 a law 3551 had been given 1325 which was able 1410 to impart 2227 life 2227, then righteousness 1343 would indeed 3689 have been 1510 based 1537 on law 3551.

 3:22 But the Scripture 1124 has shut 4788 up everyone 3956 under 5259 sin 266, so 2443 that the promise 1860 by faith 4102 in Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 might be given 1325 to those 3588 who believe 4100.

 3:23 ¶ But before 4253 faith 4102 came 2064, we were kept 5432 in custody 5432 under 5259 the law 3551, being shut 4788 up to the faith 4102 which was later 3195 to be revealed 601.

 3:24 Therefore 5620 the Law 3551 has become 1096 our tutor 3807 [to lead us] to Christ 5547, so 2443 that we may be justified 1344 by faith 4102.

 3:25 But now 1161 that faith 4102 has come 2064, we are no 3765 longer 3765 under 5259 a tutor 3807.

 3:26 For you are all 3956 sons 5207 of God 2316 through 1223 faith 4102 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424.

 3:27 For all 3745 of you who 3745 were baptized 907 into Christ 5547 have clothed 1746a yourselves with Christ 5547.

 3:28 There 1762 is neither 3756 1762 Jew 2453 nor 3761 Greek 1672, there 1762 is neither 3756 1762 slave 1401 nor 3761 free 1658 man 1658, there 1762 is neither 3756 1762 male 733b nor 2532 female 2338; for you are all 3956 one 1520 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424.

 3:29 And if 1487 you belong to Christ 5547, then 686 you are Abraham’s 11 descendants 4690, heirs 2818 according 2596 to promise 1860.
