1 John 1

1 He describeth the person of Christ, in whom we have eternal life, by a communion with God: 5 to which we must adjoin holiness of life, to testify the truth of that our communion and profession of faith, as also to assure us of the forgiveness of our sins by Christ's death.

 1:1 What 3739 was from the beginning 746, what 3739 we have heard 191, what 3739 we have seen 3708 with our eyes 3788, what 3739 we have looked 2300 at and touched 5584 with our hands 5495, concerning 4012 the Word 3056 of Life 2222—

 1:2 and the life 2222 was manifested 5319, and we have seen 3708 and testify 3140 and proclaim 518 to you the eternal 166 life 2222, which 3748 was with the Father 3962 and was manifested 5319 to us—

 1:3 what 3739 we have seen 3708 and heard 191 we proclaim 518 to you also 2532, so 2443 that you too 2532 may have 2192 fellowship 2842 with us; and indeed 2532 our fellowship 2842 is with the Father 3962, and with His Son 5207 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547.

 1:4 These 3778 things 3778 we write 1125, so 2443 that our joy 5479 may be made 4137 complete 4137.

 1:5 ¶ This 3778 is the message 31a we have heard 191 from Him and announce 312 to you, that God 2316 is Light 5457, and in Him there is no 3756 darkness 4653 at all 3762.

 1:6 If 1437 we say 3004 that we have 2192 fellowship 2842 with Him and [yet] walk 4043 in the darkness 4655, we lie 5574 and do not practice 4160 the truth 225;

 1:7 but if 1437 we walk 4043 in the Light 5457 as He Himself 846 is in the Light 5457, we have 2192 fellowship 2842 with one 240 another 240, and the blood 129 of Jesus 2424 His Son 5207 cleanses 2511 us from all 3956 sin 266.

 1:8 If 1437 we say 3004 that we have 2192 no 3756 sin 266, we are deceiving 4105 ourselves 1438 and the truth 225 is not in us.

 1:9 If 1437 we confess 3670 our sins 266, He is faithful 4103 and righteous 1342 to forgive 863 us our sins 266 and to cleanse 2511 us from all 3956 unrighteousness 93.

 1:10 If 1437 we say 3004 that we have not sinned 264, we make 4160 Him a liar 5583 and His word 3056 is not in us.
