  8:1 ¶
And the word of the Lord Almighty came, saying, |

Again the wordº
of Yahwehº
Sabaothº
cameº
[to me], saying,ºº |

8:2
Thus saith the Lord Almighty; I have been jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion{gr.Sion} with great jealousy, and I have been jealous for her with great fury. |

Yahwehº
Sabaoth;º
I was jealousºº
for Zionº
with greatº
jealousy,º
and I was jealousºº
for her with greatº
fury.º |

8:3
Thus saith the Lord; I will return to Zion{gr.Sion}, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a true city, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty a holy mountain. |

Yahweh;º
I am returnedºº
untoº
Zion,º
and will dwellºº
in the midstº
of Jerusalem:º
and Jerusalemº
shall be calledºº
a cityº
of truth;º
and the mountainº
of Yahwehº
Sabaothº
the holyº
mountain.º |

Thus saith the Lord Almighty; There shall yet dwell old men and old women in the streets of Jerusalem, every one holding his staff in his hand for age. |

There shall yetº
old menº
and old womenº
dwellºº
in the streetsº
of Jerusalem,º
and every manº
with his staffº
in his handº
for veryºº
age.º |

And the broad places of the city shall be filled with boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. |

And the streetsº
of the cityº
shall be fullºº
of boysº
and girlsº
playingºº
in the streetsº
thereof. |

Thus saith the Lord Almighty; If it shall be impossible in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, shall it also be impossible in my sight? saith the Lord Almighty. |

it be marvellousºº
in the eyesº
of the remnantº
of thisº
peopleº
in theseº
days,º
should it alsoº
be marvellousºº
in mine eyes?º

Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Behold, I [will] save my people from the east country, and the west country; |

Sabaoth;º
Behold,º
I will saveººº
my peopleº
from the eastº
country,ºº
and from the westºº
country;ºº |

and I will bring them in, and cause [them] to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be to me a people, and I will be to them a God, in truth and in righteousness. |

And I will bringºº
them, and they shall dwellºº
in the midstº
of Jerusalem:º
and they shall beº
my people,º
and Iº
will beº
their Elohim,º
in truthº
and in righteousness.º |

8:9 ¶
Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Let your hands be strong, [ye that] hear in these days these words out of the mouth of the prophets, from the day that the house of the Lord Almighty was founded, and from the time that the temple was built. |

in theseº
daysºº
theseº
wordsº
by the mouthºº
of the prophets,º
whichº
[were] in the dayº
[that] the foundationºº
of the houseº
of Yahwehº
Sabaothº
was laid,ºº
that the templeº
might be built.ºº |

For before those days the wages of men could not be profitable, and there could be no hire of cattle, and there could be no peace by reason of the affliction to him that went out or to him that came in: for I would have let loose all men, every one against his neighbour. |

for beast;º

[was there any] peaceº
to him that went outºº

the affliction:º

But now I [will] not do to the remnant of this people according to the former days, saith the Lord Almighty. |

But nowº
Iº
[will] notº
[be] unto the residueº
of thisº
peopleº
as in the formerº
days,º
saithºº
Yahwehº
Sabaoth.º |

8:12
But I will shew peace: the vine shall yield her fruit, and the land shall yield her produce, and the heaven shall give its dew: and I will give as an inheritance all these things to the remnant of my people. |
|

Forº
the seedº
[shall be] prosperous;º
the vineº
shall giveºº
her fruit,º
and the groundº
shall giveººº
her increase,º
and the heavensº
shall giveºº
their dew;º
and I will causeº
the remnantº
of thisº
peopleº
to possessººº
allº
theseº
[things]. |

And it shall come to pass, as ye were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah{gr.Juda}, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: be of good courage, and strengthen your hands. |
|

And it shall come to pass,º
[that] asº
ye wereº
a curseº
among the heathen,º
O houseº
of Judah,º
and houseº
of Israel;º
soº
will I saveºº
you, and ye shall beº
a blessing:º
fearºº
not,º
[but] let your handsº
be strong.ºº |

For thus saith the Lord Almighty; As I took counsel to afflict you when your fathers provoked me, saith the Lord Almighty, and I repented not: |

to punishºº
you, when your fathersº
provoked me to wrath,ººº

Yahwehº
Sabaoth,º
and I repentedºº

so have I prepared and taken counsel in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah{gr.Juda}: be ye of good courage. |

Jerusalemº
and to the houseº
of Judah:º
fearºº
ye not.º |

8:16 ¶
These [are] the things which ye shall do; speak truth every one with his neighbour; judge truth and peaceable judgment in your gates: |

[are] the thingsº
thatº
ye shall do;ºº
Speakºº
ye every manº
the truthº
toº
his neighbour;º
executeºº
the judgmentº
of truthº
and peaceº
in your gates:º |

and let none of you devise evil in his heart against his neighbour; and love not a false oath: for all these things I hate, saith the Lord Almighty. |

And let noneºº
of you imagineººº
evilº
in your heartsº
against his neighbour;º
and loveºº
noº
falseº
oath:º
forºº
allº
theseº
[are things] thatº
I hate,ºº
saithºº
Yahweh.º |

8:18 ¶
And the word of the Lord Almighty came to me, saying, |

Sabaothº

me, saying,ºº |

8:19
Thus saith the Lord Almighty, The fourth fast, and the fifth fast, and the seventh fast, and the tenth fast, shall be to the house of Judah{gr.Juda} for joy and gladness, and for good feasts; and ye shall rejoice; and love ye the truth and peace. |

The fastº
of the fourthº
[month], and the fastº
of the fifth,º
and the fastº
of the seventh,º
and the fastº
of the tenth,º
shall beº
to the houseº
of Judahº
joyº
and gladness,º
and cheerfulº
feasts;º
therefore loveºº
the truthº
and peace.º |

Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Yet shall many peoples come, and the inhabitants of many cities; |

Yahwehº
Sabaoth;º
[It shall] yetº
[come to pass], thatº
there shall comeºº
people,º
and the inhabitantsºº
of manyº
cities:º |
|
8:21
and the inhabitants of five cities shall come together to one city, saying, Let us go to make supplication to the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord Almighty; I will go also. |

And the inhabitantsºº
of oneº
[city] shall goºº
toº
another,º
saying,ºº
Let us goºº
speedilyºº
to prayººº
beforeº
Yahweh,º
and to seekººº
Yahwehº
Sabaoth:º
Iº
will goººº
also.º |

8:22
And many peoples and many nations shall come to seek earnestly the face of the Lord Almighty in Jerusalem, and to obtain favour of the Lord. |

Yea, manyº
peopleº
and strongº
nationsº
shall comeºº
to seekººº
Yahwehº
Sabaothº
in Jerusalem,º
and to prayººº
beforeº
Yahweh.º |

8:23
Thus saith the Lord Almighty; In those days [my word shall be fulfilled] if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold-- even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with thee; for we have heard that God is with you. |

In thoseº
daysº
[it shall come to pass], thatº
tenº
menºº
shall take holdºº
out of allºº
languagesº
of the nations,º
even shall take holdºº
of the skirtº
of himº
that is a Jew,ºº
saying,ºº
We will goººº
withº
you: forº
we have heardºº
[that] Elohimº
[is] withº
you. |
