 2:1 ¶ And I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a man, and in his hand a measuring line.

 2:1 ¶ I lifted upºº mine eyesº again, and looked,ºº and beholdº a manº with a measuringº lineº in his hand.º

 2:2 And I said to him, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth of it, and what is the length of it.

 2:2 Then saidºº I, Whitherº goestºº thou?º And he saidºº untoº me, To measureººº Jerusalem,º to seeºº whatº [is] the breadthº thereof, and whatº [is] the lengthº thereof.

 2:3 And, behold, the angel that spoke with me stood [by], and another angel went forth to meet him,

 2:3 And, behold,º the angelº that talkedºº with me went forth,ºº and anotherº angelº went outºº to meetºº him,

 2:4 and spoke to him, saying, Run and speak to that young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be fully inhabited by reason of the abundance of men and cattle in the midst of her.

 2:4 And saidºº untoº him, Run,ºº speakºº toº thisº young man,º saying,ºº Jerusalemº shall be inhabitedºº [as] towns without wallsº for the multitudeºº of menº and cattleº therein:º

 2:5 And I will be to her, saith the Lord, a wall of fire round about, and I will be for a glory in the midst of her.

 2:5 For I,º saithºº Yahweh,º will beº unto her a wallº of fireº round about,º and will beº the gloryº in the midstº of her.

 2:6 ¶ Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I will gather you from the four winds of heaven, saith the Lord,

 2:6 ¶ Ho,º ho,º [come forth], and fleeºº from the landºº of the north,º saithºº Yahweh:º forº I have spread you abroadººº as the fourº windsº of the heaven,º saithºº Yahweh.º

 2:7 [even] to Zion{gr.Sion}: deliver yourselves, ye that dwell [with] the daughter of Babylon.

 2:7 Deliverºº thyself,º Oº Zion,º that dwellestºº [with] the daughterº of Babylon.º

 2:8 For thus saith the Lord Almighty; After the glory has he sent me to the nations that spoiled you: for he that touches you is as one that touches the apple of his eye.

 2:8 Forº thusº saithºº Yahwehº Sabaoth;º Afterº the gloryº hath he sentºº me untoº the nationsº which spoiledºº you: forº he that touchethºº you touchethºº the appleº of his eye.º

 2:9 For, behold, I bring my hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to them that serve them: and ye shall know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.

 2:9 For,º behold,º I will shakeººº mine handº uponº them, and they shall beº a spoilº to their servants:ººº and ye shall knowºº thatº Yahwehº Sabaothº hath sentºº me.

 2:10 ¶ Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Zion{gr.Sion}: for, behold, I come, and will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.

 2:10 ¶ Singºº and rejoice,ºº O daughterº of Zion:º for,º lo,º I come,ºº and I will dwellºº in the midstº of thee, saithºº Yahweh.º

 2:11 And many nations shall flee for refuge to the Lord in that day, and they shall be for a people to him, and they shall dwell in the midst of thee: and thou shalt know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to thee.

 2:11 And manyº nationsº shall be joinedºº toº Yahwehº in thatº day,º and shall beº my people:º and I will dwellºº in the midstº of thee, and thou shalt knowºº thatº Yahwehº Sabaothº hath sentºº me untoº thee.

 2:12 And the Lord shall inherit Judah{gr.Juda} his portion in the holy [land], and he will yet choose Jerusalem.

 2:12 And Yahwehº shall inheritººº Judahº his portionº inº the holyº land,º and shall chooseºº Jerusalemº again.º

 2:13 Let all flesh fear before the Lord: for he has risen up from his holy clouds.

 2:13 Be silent,ºº O allº flesh,º beforeºº Yahweh:º forº he is raised upºº out of his holyº habitation.ºº
