2:1 ¶
AGAIN, from fourteen years I went up to Urishlem with Bar Naba, and took with me Titos. |
|
2:1
And again, after fourteen years, I went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas; and I took with me Titus. |
2:2
But I went up by revelation; and I disclosed to them the gospel which I proclaim among the nations; and I showed it to those who were considered to be somewhat between myself and them, lest in vain I had run or should run. |
|
2:2
And I went up by revelation: and I explained to them the gospel which I announce among the Gentiles; and I stated it to them who were esteemed prominent, between myself and them: lest I should have run, or might run in vain. |
2:3
Titos also who was with me, who was an Aramoya, was not constrained to be circumcised. |
|
2:3
Also Titus, who was with me, and was a Gentile, was not compelled to be circumcised. |
2:4
But on account of false brethren, who entered upon us that they might espy the liberty which we have in Jeshu Meshiha as that they might bring me into subjection; |
|
2:4
And in regard to the false brethren, who had crept in to spy out the liberty we have in Jesus the Messiah, in order to bring me under subjection; |
2:5
yet not for the space of an hour did we cast ourselves down to be subject to them; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. |
|
2:5
not for the space of an hour, did we throw ourselves into subjection to them; so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you. |
2:6
But, they who were considered to be somewhat, but what they were I care not, for Aloha accepteth not men's faces, they themselves added nothing unto me; |
|
2:6
And they who were esteemed prominent, (what they were, I care not; for God regardeth not the persons of men,) even these persons added nothing to me. |
2:7
but otherwise: for seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, as Kipha was intrusted with [that of] the circumcision; |
|
2:7
But, otherwise; for they saw, that the gospel of the uncircumcision was intrusted to me, as to Cephas was intrusted that of the circumcision. |
2:8
for he who wrought effectually with Kipha for the apostleship of the circumcision wrought effectually also with me for the apostleship of the Gentiles; |
|
2:8
For he that was operative with Cephas in the legateship of the circumcision, was also operative with me in the legateship of the Gentiles. |
2:9
and knowing the grace which had been given to me, Jakub and Kipha and Juchanon, who were considered to be pillars, the right hand of fellowship gave to me and to Bar Naba, that we (should preach) among the Gentiles, and they among the circumcision: |
|
2:9
And James, Cephas, and John, who were accounted pillars, when they perceived the grace that was given to me, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship; that we [should labor] among the Gentiles, and they among the circumcision. |
2:10
only (requiring) that of the poor we should be mindful; and I have been solicitous to do this same thing. |
|
2:10
Only [they desired] that we would be mindful of the needy; and I was solicitous to do the same. |
2:11 ¶
BUT when Kipha had come to Antiokia, I rebuked him to his face, because they were offended by him. |
|
2:11
But when Cephas was come to Antioch, I rebuked him to his face; because they were stumbled by him. |
2:12
For until certain men came from Jakub, he had eaten with the Gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew himself and separated, because he was afraid of those who were of the circumcision. |
|
2:12
For before certain ones came from James, he ate with the Gentiles: but when they came, he withdrew himself, and separated; because he was afraid of them of the circumcision. |
2:13
And the rest of the Jihudoyee also were thrown with him in this, so that Bar Naba also was led away by their partiality. |
|
2:13
And the rest of the Jews also were with him in this thing; insomuch that even Barnabas was induced to regard persons. |
2:14
And when I saw that they were not walking rightly in the truth of the gospel, I said to Kipha in the presence of them all: If thou who art a Jihudoya live as an Aramoya, and not Judaically, why forcest thou the Gentiles to live Judaically? |
|
2:14
And when I saw, that they did not walk correctly, in the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas, before them all: If thou art a Jew, and livest in the Gentile way, and not in the Jewish, why dost thou compel the Gentiles to live in the Jewish way? |
2:15
If we who by our nature are Jihudoyee, and are not of the Gentile sinners, |
|
2:15
For if we, who are Jews by nature, and are not sinners of the Gentiles, |
2:16
because we know that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jeshu Meshiha, also in him, in Jeshu Meshiha, have believed, that from the faith of the Meshiha we may be justified, and not from the works of the law; because from the works of the law shall no flesh be justified: |
|
2:16
because we know that a man is not made just by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus the Messiah; even we have believed in Jesus the Messiah, in order to be made just by faith in the Messiah, and not by the works of the law: for, by the deeds of the law, no flesh is made just. |
2:17 ¶
IF, while we seek to be justified through the Meshiha, we also ourselves are found sinners, is Jeshu Meshiha therefore the minister of sin? It cannot be. |
|
2:17
And if, while we seek to become just by the Messiah, we are found to be ourselves sinners, is Jesus the Messiah therefore the minister of sin? Far be it! |
2:18
For, if those things which I destroyed I build again, I make it manifest of myself that I transgress the commandment. |
|
2:18
For if I should build up again the things I had demolished, I should show myself to be a transgressor of the precept. |
2:19
For I by the law to the law am dead, that unto Aloha I may live: and with the Meshiha am I crucified, and from henceforth I live not, but in me liveth Meshiha; |
|
2:19
For I, by the law, have become dead to the law, that I might live to God; and I am crucified with the Messiah. |
2:20
and this that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of Aloha, who loved me and gave himself for me. |
|
2:20
And henceforth it is no more I who live, but the Messiah liveth in me: and the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. |
2:21
I do not deny the grace of Aloha; for if righteousness is by the law, the Meshiha died in vain! |
|
2:21
I do not spurn the grace of God. For if righteousness is by means of the law, the Messiah died in vain. |
