11:1 ¶
BUT I could desire that you could tolerate me a little that I may speak foolishly. Nevertheless tolerate me, |
|
11:1
I would that ye could bear with me a little, that I might talk foolishly: and indeed, bear ye with me. |
11:2
for I am zealous towards you with the zeal of Aloha; for I have betrothed you to one man, a pure virgin, whom I would bring unto the Meshiha. |
|
11:2
For I am jealous over you, with a godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to a husband as a chaste virgin, whom I would present to the Messiah. |
11:3
But I fear lest, as the serpent deceived 'Hava by his guile, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is toward the Meshiha. |
|
11:3
But I fear, lest, as the serpent beguiled Eve by his craftiness, so your minds should be corrupted from simplicity towards the Messiah. |
11:4
For if he who hath come to you shall preach to you another Jeshu, whom we have not preached, or you receive another Spirit which you have not received or another gospel which you have not accepted, you would have been well persuaded. |
|
11:4
For if he that cometh to you, had proclaimed to you another Jesus, whom we have not proclaimed; or if ye had received another Spirit, which ye have not received; or another gospel, which ye have not accepted; ye might well have given assent. |
11:5
For I consider that I am nothing inferior to those apostles who are most excellent. |
|
11:5
For, I suppose, I came not short of those legates who most excel. |
11:6
For if I am rude in my speech, I yet am not in my knowledge; but in every thing we are manifest among you. |
|
11:6
For, though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but in all things we have been manifest among you. |
11:7
Or, offending have I offended in humbling myself that you may be exalted, and have gratuitously preached to you the gospel of Aloha? |
|
11:7
Did I indeed commit an offence, by humbling myself that ye might be exalted? and by proclaiming the gospel of God to you gratis? |
11:8
And other churches have I despoiled, receiving of them expenses, for your service. |
|
11:8
And I robbed other churches, and I took pay [of them] for ministering to you. |
11:9
And being come among you, I burdened no man of you; for my want the brethren who came from Makedunia supplied: and in every thing have I kept myself, and will keep, that I may not be burdensome to you. |
|
11:9
And when I came among you and was needy, I was burdensome to none of you; for the brethren who came from Macedonia, supplied my wants: and in all things I kept myself, and I will keep myself, from being burdensome to you. |
11:10
The truth of the Meshiha is in me, that this boasting shall not be abolished respecting me in the regions of Akaia. |
|
11:10
As the truth of the Messiah is in me, this glorying shall not be made vain as to me in the regions of Achaia. |
11:11
Why? because I love you not? Aloha himself knoweth! |
|
11:11
Why? Because I do not love you? God knoweth. |
11:12
But I do this, and also will do it, to cut off the occasion of them who seek an occasion, that in the thing in which they boast they may be found as we are. |
|
11:12
But what I do, that also I will do; that I may cut off occasion, from them who seek occasion: so that in the thing wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. |
11:13
For these are apostles of falsehood and workers of deceits, assimilating themselves to the apostles of the Meshiha. |
|
11:13
For they are false legates, crafty workers, and feign themselves to be legates of the Messiah. |
11:14
Nor in this may we wonder, if Satana himself be transformed into an angel of light. |
|
11:14
And in this there is nothing strange. For if Satan feigneth himself an angel of light, |
11:15
Nor is it a great thing if his ministers also are transformed into ministers of righteousness; -whose end will be according to their works. |
|
11:15
it is no great thing if his ministers feign themselves ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. |
11:16 ¶
BUT I say again, Let no man think of me as a fool; or if otherwise, let him receive me as a fool, that I also may boast a little. |
|
11:16
Again I say, let no one think of me, as being a fool: or if otherwise, receive me as a fool, that I may glory a little. |
11:17
The thing which I (now) speak, I do not speak in our Lord, but as in foolishness in this place of boasting. |
|
11:17
What I am [now] saying, I say not in our Lord, but as in folly, in this matter of glorying. |
11:18
Because many boast in the flesh, I also will boast. |
|
11:18
Because many glory after the flesh, I also will glory. |
11:19
For you are content to listen to the feebleminded, you yourselves being wise. |
|
11:19
For ye hear with indulgence them who lack reason, seeing ye are wise. |
11:20
For you are ruled by one who subjugates you, and by one who devours you, and by one who takes away from you, and by one who exalts himself over you, and by one who smites you on your faces! |
|
11:20
And ye give ear to him, who putteth you in bondage; and to him, who devoureth you; and to him, who taketh from you; and to him, who exalteth himself over you; and to him, who smiteth you in the face. |
11:21
As in abasement I speak; as though we were weak through defectiveness of mind, I speak. In whatever any man dareth, I also dare. |
|
11:21
I speak as if under contempt: I speak as if we were impotent, through deficiency of understanding; that in whatever thing any one is presuming, I also am presuming. |
11:22
If they are Ebroyee, so am I; if they are Isroloyee, so am I; if they are the seed of Abraham, so am I; |
|
11:22
If they are Hebrews, so I also: or if they are Israelites, I also. If they are the seed of Abraham, I also. |
11:23
if they are ministers of the Meshiha, -I speak with defectiveness of mind,- I exceed then! In labours I exceed them, in stripes I exceed them, in chains I exceed them, in deaths many times. |
|
11:23
If they are ministers of the Messiah, (in defect of understanding, I say it,) I am superior to them: in toils more than they, in stripes more than they, in bonds more than they, in deaths many times. |
11:24
From the Jihudoyee, five times, forty (stripes) wanting one have I devoured; |
|
11:24
By the Jews, five times was I scourged, each time with forty stripes save one. |
11:25
three times with staves have I been beaten, once was I stoned, three times have I been in shipwreck, a day and a night without a ship have I been in the sea. |
|
11:25
Three times was I beaten with rods: at one time I was stoned: three times I was in shipwreck, by day and by night; I have been in the sea, without a ship. |
11:26
In journeys many, in danger of rivers, in danger of robbers, in danger from my own race, in danger from the Gentiles; I have been in danger in cities, I have been in danger in the waste, in danger by sea, in danger from false brethren; |
|
11:26
In journeyings many, in peril by rivers, in peril by robbers, in peril from my kindred, in peril from Gentiles: I have been in peril in cities; I have been in peril in the desert, in peril in the sea, in peril from false brethren. |
11:27
in labour and weariness, in much watching, in hunger and thirst, in much fasting, in cold and in nakedness; |
|
11:27
In toil and weariness, in much watching, in hunger and thirst, in much fasting, in cold and nakedness: |
11:28
besides the aboundings and the gathering which are upon me daily even my care which is for all the churches. |
|
11:28
besides many other things, and the thronging around me every day, and my anxiety for all the churches. |
11:29
Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is offended, and I burn not? |
|
11:29
Who becometh weak, and I become not weak? Who is stumbled, and I burn not? |
11:30
If I must boast in my infirmities, I will boast. |
|
11:30
If I must glory, I will glory in my infirmities. |
11:31
Aloha, the Father of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, the Blessed for ever and ever, knoweth that I lie not. |
|
11:31
God, the Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, blessed for ever and ever, he knoweth that I lie not. |
11:32
In Darmsuk the great force of Aretos the king kept the city of the Darmsukoyee to apprehend me. |
|
11:32
At Damascus, the commander of the army of Aretas the king, guarded the city of the Damascenes, to seize me. |
11:33
And from a window in a basket they sent me from the wall, and I was delivered from his hands. |
|
11:33
And from a window, in a basket, they let me down from the wall, and I escaped from his hands. |
