 31:1 ¶ And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.

 31:1 ¶ And Mosesº wentººº and spakeººº theseº wordsº untoº allº Israel.º

 31:2 And he said unto them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: and Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

 31:2 And he saidºº untoº them, Iº [am] an hundredº and twentyº yearsº oldº this day;º I canºº noº moreº go outºº and come in:ºº also the LORDº hath saidºº untoº me, Thou shalt notº go overººº thisº Jordan.º

 31:3 Jehovah thy God, he will go over before thee; he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt dispossess them: [and] Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as Jehovah hath spoken.

 31:3 The LORDº thy God,º heº will go overºº beforeº thee, [and] heº will destroyººº theseº nationsº from beforeºº thee, and thou shalt possessºº them: [and] Joshua,º heº shall go overºº beforeº thee, asº the LORDº hath said.ºº

 31:4 And Jehovah will do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and unto their land; whom he destroyed.

 31:4 And the LORDº shall doºº unto them asº he didºº to Sihonº and to Og,º kingsº of the Amorites,º and unto the landº of them, whomºº he destroyed.ºº

 31:5 And Jehovah will deliver them up before you, and ye shall do unto them according unto all the commandment which I have commanded you.

 31:5 And the LORDº shall give them upºº before your face,º that ye may doºº unto them according unto allº the commandmentsº whichº I have commandedºº you.

 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them: for Jehovah thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

 31:6 Be strongºº and of a good courage,ºº fearºº not,º norº be afraidºº ofºº them:º forº the LORDº thy God,º heº [it is] that doth goºº withº thee; he will notº failºº thee, norº forsakeºº thee.

 31:7 ¶ And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage: for thou shalt go with this people into the land which Jehovah hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

 31:7 ¶ And Mosesº calledºº unto Joshua,º and saidºº untoº him in the sightº of allº Israel,º Be strongºº and of a good courage:ºº forº thouº must goºº withº thisº peopleº untoº the landº whichº the LORDº hath swornºº unto their fathersº to giveºº them; and thouº shalt cause them to inheritºº it.

 31:8 And Jehovah, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

 31:8 And the LORD,º heº [it is] that doth goºº beforeº thee; heº will beº with thee,º he will notº failºº thee, neitherº forsakeºº thee: fearºº not,º neitherº be dismayed.ºº

 31:9 ¶ And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and unto all the elders of Israel.

 31:9 ¶ And Mosesº wroteººº thisº law,º and deliveredºº it untoº the priestsº the sonsº of Levi,º which bareººº the arkº of the covenantº of the LORD,º and untoº allº the eldersº of Israel.º

 31:10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of [every] seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

 31:10 And Mosesº commandedºº them, saying,ºº At the endºº of [every] sevenº years,º in the solemnityº of the yearº of release,º in the feastº of tabernacles,º

 31:11 when all Israel is come to appear before Jehovah thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

 31:11 When allº Israelº is comeºº to appearººº beforeº the LORDº thy Godº in the placeº whichº he shall choose,ºº thou shalt readººº thisº lawº beforeº allº Israelº in their hearing.º

 31:12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and thy sojourner that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Jehovah your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;

 31:12 Gatherºº the peopleº together,ºººº men,ºº and women,º and children,º and thy strangerº thatº [is] within thy gates,º thatº they may hear,ºº and thatº they may learn,ºº and fearººº the LORDº your God,º and observeºº to doººº allº the wordsº of thisº law:º

 31:13 and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear Jehovah your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over the Jordan to possess it.

 31:13 And [that] their children,º whichº have notº knownºº [any thing], may hear,ºº and learnºº to fearººº the LORDº your God,º as long asººº yeº liveº inº the landº whitherºº yeº go overººº Jordanº to possessºº it.

 31:14 ¶ And Jehovah said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.

 31:14 ¶ And the LORDº saidºº untoº Moses,º Behold,º thy daysº approachºº that thou must die:ºº callººº Joshua,º and presentºº yourselvesº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º that I may give him a charge.ºº And Mosesº and Joshuaº went,ººº and presentedºº themselvesº in the tabernacleº of the congregation.º

 31:15 And Jehovah appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

 31:15 And the LORDº appearedºº in the tabernacleº in a pillarº of a cloud:º and the pillarº of the cloudº stoodºº overº the doorº of the tabernacle.º

 31:16 ¶ And Jehovah said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the harlot after the strange gods of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

 31:16 ¶ And the LORDº saidºº untoº Moses,º Behold,º thou shalt sleepºº withº thy fathers;º and thisº peopleº will rise up,ºº and go a whoringºº afterº the godsº of the strangersº of the land,º whitherºº theyº goºº [to be] amongº them, and will forsakeºº me, and breakººº my covenantº whichº I have madeºº withº them.

 31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

 31:17 Then my angerº shall be kindledºº against them in thatº day,º and I will forsakeºº them, and I will hideºº my faceº fromº them, and they shall beº devoured,ºº and manyº evilsº and troublesº shall befallºº them; so that they will sayºº in thatº day,º Are notº theseº evilsº comeºº uponº us, becauseºº our Godº [is] notº amongº us?

 31:18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

 31:18 And Iº will surelyºº hideºº my faceº in thatº dayº forº allº the evilsº whichº they shall have wrought,ºº in thatº they are turnedºº untoº otherº gods.º

 31:19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach thou it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

 31:19 Nowº therefore writeººº ye thisº songº for you, and teachºº itº the childrenº of Israel:º putºº it in their mouths,º thatº thisº songº may beº a witnessº for me against the childrenº of Israel.º

 31:20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxed fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

 31:20 Forº when I shall have broughtºº them intoº the landº whichº I swareºº unto their fathers,º that flowethºº with milkº and honey;º and they shall have eatenºº and filledºº themselves,º and waxen fat;ºº then will they turnºº untoº otherº gods,º and serveºº them, and provokeºº me, and breakººº my covenant.º

 31:21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are come upon them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

 31:21 And it shall come to pass,º whenº manyº evilsº and troublesº are befallenºº them, that thisº songº shall testifyºº againstº them as a witness;º forº it shall notº be forgottenºº out of the mouthsºº of their seed:º forº I knowººº their imaginationº whichº theyº go about,ºº even now,º beforeº I have broughtºº them intoº the landº whichº I sware.ºº

 31:22 ¶ So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

 31:22 ¶ Mosesº therefore wroteººº thisº songº the sameº day,º and taughtºº itº the childrenº of Israel.º

 31:23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

 31:23 And he gaveºº Joshuaº the sonº of Nunº a charge,ºº and said,ºº Be strongºº and of a good courage:ºº forº thouº shalt bringººº the childrenº of Israelº intoº the landº whichº I swareºº unto them: and Iº will beº withº thee.

 31:24 ¶ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

 31:24 ¶ And it came to pass,º when Mosesº had made an endºº of writingººº the wordsº of thisº lawº inº a book,º untilº they were finished,ºº

 31:25 that Moses commanded the Levites, that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,

 31:25 That Mosesº commandedººº the Levites,º which bareºº the arkº of the covenantº of the LORD,º saying,ºº

 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

 31:26 Takeººº thisº bookº of the law,º and putºº it in the sideºº of the arkº of the covenantº of the LORDº your God,º that it may beº thereº for a witnessº against thee.

 31:27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against Jehovah; and how much more after my death?

 31:27 Forº Iº knowººº thy rebellion,º and thy stiffº neck:º behold,º while I am yetº aliveº withº you this day,º ye have beenº rebelliousºº againstº the LORD;º and howº much moreº afterº my death?º

 31:28 ¶ Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

 31:28 ¶ Gatherºº untoº meº allº the eldersº of your tribes,º and your officers,ºº that I may speakººº theseº wordsº in their ears,º and callººº heavenº and earthº to recordºº against them.

 31:29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

 31:29 Forº I knowºº that afterº my deathº ye will utterlyºº corruptºº [yourselves], and turn asideºº fromº the wayº whichº I have commandedºº you; and evilº will befallºº you in the latterº days;º becauseº ye will doººº evilº in the sightº of the LORD,º to provoke him to angerºº through the workº of your hands.º

 31:30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.

 31:30 And Mosesº spakeºº in the earsº of allº the congregationº of Israelºº the wordsº of thisº song,º untilº they were ended.ºº
