And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, In times past ye sought for David to be king over you:

And Abnerª had¹ communicationª²° with¹ the Eldersª of Israel,ª saying,ª° Yee soughtª°¹ for¹ Dauidª in timesª¹ past,ª¹ to be kingª ouer¹ you.

And Abner{gr.Abenner} spoke to the elders of Israel, saying, In former days ye sought David to reign over you;

And ´Avnër אַבנֵרª had¹ communicationª²° with¹ the eldersª of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,ª saying,ª° Ye soughtª°¹ for¹ Däwiđ דָּוִדª in timesª¹ pastª¹ [to be] kingª over¹ you:

ûd'var-av'nër häyäh im-ziq'nëy yis'räël lëmor Gam-T'môl Gam-shil'shom héyiytem m'vaq'shiym et-Däwid l'melekh' álëykhem
