And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof: he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.

And that¹ dayª Joshuaª tookª° Makkedah,ª and smoteª° it with the edgeª of the sword,ª and the kingª thereof he utterly destroyed,ª° them, and all¹ the soulsª that¹ [were] therein; he letª° none¹ remain:ª and he didª° to the kingª of Makkedahª as¹ he didª° unto the kingª of Jericho.ª

And that¹ dayª Ioshuaª tookeª° Makkedah,ª and smoteª° it with the edgeª of the sword,ª and the kingª thereof hee vtterly destroyed,ª° them, and all¹ the soulesª that¹ were therein, he letª° none¹ remaine:ª and he didª° to the kingª of Makkedah,ª as¹ hee didª° vnto the kingª of Iericho.ª

And they took Makkedah{gr.Makeda} on that day, and slew the inhabitants with the edge of the sword, and they utterly destroyed every living thing that was in it; and there was none left in it that was preserved and had escaped; and they did to the king of Makkedah{gr.Makeda}, as they did to the king of Jericho.

And that¹ dayª Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַª tookª° Makkëđà מַקֵּדָה,ª and smoteª° it with the edgeª of the sword,ª and the kingª thereof he utterly destroyed,ª° them, and all¹ the soulsª that¹ [were] therein; he letª° none¹ remain:ª and he didª° to the kingª of Makkëđà מַקֵּדָהª as¹ he didª° unto the kingª of Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹ.ª
