Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

Now it came to pass,¹ when Adonizedekª kingª of Jerusalemª had heardª° howª Joshuaª had takenª°¹ Ai,ª and had utterly destroyedª° it; as¹ he had doneª° to Jerichoª and her king,ª so¹ he had doneª° to Aiª and her king;ª and how¹ the inhabitantsª° of Gibeonª had made peaceª° with¹ Israel,ª and were¹ amongª them;

Now it came to passe¹ when Adoni-zedekª Kingª of Ierusalem,ª had heardª° howª Ioshuaª had takenª°¹ Ai,ª and had vtterly destroyedª° it, (as¹ he had doneª° to Iericho,ª and her King,ª so¹ hee had doneª° to Ai,ª and her King)ª and how¹ the inhabitantsª° of Gibeonª had made peaceª° with¹ Israel,ª and were¹ amongª them,

And when Adoni-bezec king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua{gr.Jesus} had taken Ai{gr.Gai}, and had destroyed it, as he did to Jericho and its king, even so they did to Ai{gr.Gai} and its king, and that the inhabitants of Gibeon{gr.Gabaon} had gone over to Joshua{gr.Jesus} and Israel;

Now it came to pass,¹ when ´Áđönî Xeđek אֲדֹנִי־צֶדֶקª kingª of Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַםª had heardª° howª Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַª had takenª°¹ `Ay עַי,ª and had utterly destroyedª° it; as¹ he had doneª° to Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹª and her king,ª so¹ he had doneª° to `Ay עַיª and her king;ª and how¹ the inhabitantsª° of Giv`ôn גִּבעוֹןª had made peaceª° with¹ Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,ª and were¹ amongª them;
