1 The cruelty of the princes. 5 The falsehood of the prophets. 8 The security of them both.
3:1
And I said 559, “Hear 8085 now 4994, heads 7218 of Jacob 3290 And rulers 7101 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478. Is it not for you to know 3045 justice 4941?
3:2
“You who hate 8130 good 2896b and love 157 evil 7451b, Who tear 1497 off 1497 their skin 5785 from them And their flesh 7607 from their bones 6106,
3:3
Who 834 eat 398 the flesh 7607 of my people 5971a, Strip 6584 off 6584 their skin 5785 from them, Break 6476 their bones 6106 And chop 6566 [them] up as for the pot 5518a And as meat 1320 in a kettle 7037.”
3:4
Then 227 they will cry 2199 out to the LORD 3068, But He will not answer 6030a them. Instead, He will hide 5641 His face 6440 from them at that time 6256 Because 834 they have practiced 7489a evil 7489a deeds 4611.
3:5
¶ Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 concerning 5921 the prophets 5030 who lead 8582 my people 5971a astray 8582; When they have [something] to bite 5391a with their teeth 8127, They cry 7121, “Peace 7965,” But against 5921 him who 834 puts 5414 nothing 3808 in their mouths 6310 They declare 6942 holy 6942 war 4421.
3:6
Therefore 3651 [it will be] night 3915 for you—without 4480 vision 2377, And darkness 2825 for you—without 4480 divination 7080. The sun 8121 will go 935 down on the prophets 5030, And the day 3117 will become 6937 dark 6937 over 5921 them.
3:7
The seers 2374 will be ashamed 954 And the diviners 7080 will be embarrassed 2659. Indeed, they will all 3605 cover 5844a [their] mouths 8222 Because 3588 there 369 is no 369 answer 4617 from God 430.
3:8
On the other 199 hand 199 I am filled 4390 with power 3581b— With the Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068— And with justice 4941 and courage 1369 To make 5046 known 5046 to Jacob 3290 his rebellious 6588 act 6588, Even to Israel 3478 his sin 2403b.
3:9
Now 4994 hear 8085 this 2088, heads 7218 of the house 1004 of Jacob 3290 And rulers 7101 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478, Who abhor 8581 justice 4941 And twist 6140 everything 3605 that is straight 3477,
3:10
Who build 1129 Zion 6726 with bloodshed 1818 And Jerusalem 3389 with violent 5767b injustice 5767b.
3:11
Her leaders 7218 pronounce 8199 judgment 8199 for a bribe 7810, Her priests 3548 instruct 3384 for a price 4242 And her prophets 5030 divine 7080 for money 3701. Yet they lean 8172 on the LORD 3068 saying 559, “Is not the LORD 3068 in our midst 7130? Calamity 7463a will not come 935 upon us.”
3:12
Therefore 3651, on account 1558 of you Zion 6726 will be plowed 2790a as a field 7704, Jerusalem 3389 will become 1961 a heap 5856 of ruins 5856, And the mountain 2022 of the temple 1004 [will become] high 1116 places 1116 of a forest 3293a.
