1 Timothy 2
1 That it is meet to pray and give thanks for all men, and the reason why. 9 How women should be attired. 12 They are not permitted to teach. 15 They shall be saved, notwithstanding the testimonies of God's wrath, in childbirth, if they continue in faith.
2:1
First 4413 of all 3956, then 3767, I urge 3870 that entreaties 1162 [and] prayers 4335, petitions 1783 [and] thanksgivings 2169, be made 4160 on behalf 5228 of all 3956 men 444,
2:2
for kings 935 and all 3956 who are in authority 5247, so 2443 that we may lead 1236 a tranquil 2263 and quiet 2272 life 979 in all 3956 godliness 2150 and dignity 4587.
2:3
This 3778 is good 2570 and acceptable 587 in the sight 1799 of God 2316 our Savior 4990,
2:4
who 3739 desires 2309 all 3956 men 444 to be saved 4982 and to come 2064 to the knowledge 1922 of the truth 225.
2:5
For there is one 1520 God 2316, [and] one 1520 mediator 3316 also 2532 between God 2316 and men 444, [the] man 444 Christ 5547 Jesus 2424,
2:6
who gave 1325 Himself 1438 as a ransom 487 for all 3956, the testimony 3142 [given] at the proper 2398 time 2540.
2:7
For this 3739 I was appointed 5087 a preacher 2783 and an apostle 652 (I am telling 3004 the truth 225, I am not lying 5574) as a teacher 1320 of the Gentiles 1484 in faith 4102 and truth 225.
2:8
¶ Therefore 3767 I want 1014 the men 435 in every 3956 place 5117 to pray 4336, lifting 1869 up holy 3741 hands 5495, without 5565 wrath 3709 and dissension 1261.
2:9
Likewise 5615, [I want] women 1135 to adorn 2885 themselves 1438 with proper 2887 clothing 2689, modestly 127 and discreetly 4997, not with braided 4117 hair 4117 and gold 5553 or 2228 pearls 3135 or 2228 costly 4185 garments 2441,
2:10
but rather 235 by means 1223 of good 18 works 2041, as is proper 4241 for women 1135 making 1861 a claim 1861 to godliness 2317.
2:11
A woman 1135 must quietly 2271 receive 3129 instruction 3129 with entire 3956 submissiveness 5292.
2:12
But I do not allow 2010 a woman 1135 to teach 1321 or 3761 exercise 831 authority 831 over 831 a man 435, but to remain 1510 quiet 2271.
2:13
For it was Adam 76 who was first 4413 created 4111, [and] then 1534 Eve 2096.
2:14
And [it was] not Adam 76 [who] was deceived 538, but the woman 1135 being deceived 1818, fell 1096 into transgression 3847.
2:15
But [women] will be preserved 4982 through 1223 the bearing 5042 of children 5042 if 1437 they continue 3306 in faith 4102 and love 26 and sanctity 38 with self-restraint 4997.
