1 Peter 2

1 He exhorteth them from the breach of charity: 4 shewing that Christ is the foundation whereupon they are built. 11 He beseecheth them also to abstain from fleshly lusts, 13 to be obedient to magistrates, 18 and teacheth servants how to obey their masters, 20 patiently suffering for well doing, after the example of Christ.

 2:1 Therefore 3767, putting 659 aside 659 all 3956 malice 2549 and all 3956 deceit 1388 and hypocrisy 5272 and envy 5355 and all 3956 slander 2636,

 2:2 like 5613 newborn 738 babies 1025, long 1971 for the pure 97 milk 1051 of the word 3050, so 2443 that by it you may grow 837 in respect 1519 to salvation 4991,

 2:3 if 1487 you have tasted 1089 the kindness 5543 of the Lord 2962.

 2:4 ¶ And coming 4334 to Him as to a living 2198 stone 3037 which has been rejected 593 by men 444, but is choice 1588 and precious 1784 in the sight 3844 of God 2316,

 2:5 you also 2532, as living 2198 stones 3037, are being built 2026 up as a spiritual 4152 house 3624 for a holy 40 priesthood 2406, to offer 399 up spiritual 4152 sacrifices 2378 acceptable 2144 to God 2316 through 1223 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547.

 2:6 For [this] is contained 4023 in Scripture 1124: “BEHOLD 2400, I LAY 5087 IN ZION 4622 A CHOICE 1588 STONE 3037, A PRECIOUS 1784 CORNER 204 [stone], AND HE WHO BELIEVES 4100 IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED 2617b.”

 2:7 This 3588 precious 5092 value 5092, then 3767, is for you who believe 4100; but for those 3588 who disbelieve 569, “THE STONE 3037 WHICH 3739 THE BUILDERS 3618 REJECTED 593, THIS 3778 BECAME 1096 THE VERY 2776 CORNER 1137 [stone],”

 2:8 and, “A STONE 3037 OF STUMBLING 4348 AND A ROCK 4073 OF OFFENSE 4625”; for they stumble 4350 because they are disobedient 544 to the word 3056, and to this 3739 [doom] they were also 2532 appointed 5087.

 2:9 ¶ But you are A CHOSEN 1588 RACE 1085, A royal 934 PRIESTHOOD 2406, A HOLY 40 NATION 1484, A PEOPLE 2992 FOR [God’s] OWN POSSESSION 4047, so 3704 that you may proclaim 1804 the excellencies 703 of Him who has called 2564 you out of darkness 4655 into His marvelous 2298 light 5457;

 2:10 for you once 4218 were NOT A PEOPLE 2992, but now 3568 you are THE PEOPLE 2992 OF GOD 2316; you had NOT RECEIVED 1653 MERCY 1653, but now 3568 you have RECEIVED 1653 MERCY 1653.

 2:11 ¶ Beloved 27, I urge 3870 you as aliens 3941 and strangers 3927 to abstain 568 from fleshly 4559 lusts 1939 which 3748 wage 4754 war 4754 against 2596 the soul 5590.

 2:12 Keep 2192 your behavior 391 excellent 2570 among 1722 the Gentiles 1484, so 2443 that in the thing in which 3739 they slander 2635 you as evildoers 2555, they may because 1537 of your good 2570 deeds 2041, as they observe 2029 [them], glorify 1392 God 2316 in the day 2250 of visitation 1984.

 2:13 ¶ Submit 5293 yourselves for the Lord’s 2962 sake 1223 to every 3956 human 442 institution 2937, whether 1535a to a king 935 as the one in authority 5242,

 2:14 or 1535a to governors 2232 as sent 3992 by him for the punishment 1557 of evildoers 2555 and the praise 1868 of those who do 15 right 15.

 2:15 For such 3779 is the will 2307 of God 2316 that by doing 15 right 15 you may silence 5392 the ignorance 56 of foolish 878 men 444.

 2:16 [Act] as free 1658 men 1658, and do not use 2192 your freedom 1657 as a covering 1942 for evil 2549, but [use it] as bondslaves 1401 of God 2316.

 2:17 Honor 5091 all 3956 people 3956, love 25 the brotherhood 81, fear 5399 God 2316, honor 5091 the king 935.

 2:18 ¶ Servants 3610b, be submissive 5293 to your masters 1203 with all 3956 respect 5401, not only 3440 to those 3588 who are good 18 and gentle 1933, but also 2532 to those 3588 who are unreasonable 4646.

 2:19 For this 3778 [finds] favor 5485, if 1487 for the sake 1223 of conscience 4893 toward God 2316 a person 5100 bears 5297 up under 5297 sorrows 3077 when suffering 3958 unjustly 95.

 2:20 For what 4169 credit 2811 is there if 1487, when you sin 264 and are harshly 2852 treated 2852, you endure 5278 it with patience 5278? But if 1487 when you do 15 what is right 15 and suffer 3958 [for it] you patiently 5278 endure 5278 it, this 3778 [finds] favor 5485 with God 2316.

 2:21 For you have been called 2564 for this 3778 purpose, since 3754 Christ 5547 also 2532 suffered 3958 for you, leaving 5277 you an example 5261 for you to follow 1872 in His steps 2487,

 2:22 WHO 3739 COMMITTED 4160 NO 3756 SIN 266, NOR 3761 WAS ANY DECEIT 1388 FOUND 2147 IN HIS MOUTH 4750;

 2:23 and while being reviled 3058, He did not revile 486 in return 486; while suffering 3958, He uttered 546 no 3756 threats 546, but kept entrusting 3860 [Himself] to Him who judges 2919 righteously 1346;

 2:24 and He Himself 846 bore 399 our sins 266 in His body 4983 on the cross 3586, so 2443 that we might die 581 to sin 266 and live 2198 to righteousness 1343; for by His wounds 3468 you were healed 2390.

 2:25 For you were continually straying 4105 like 5613 sheep 4263b, but now 3568 you have returned 1994 to the Shepherd 4166 and Guardian 1985 of your souls 5590.
