But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men that are Romans, and have cast us into prison; and do they now cast us out privily? Nay verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.

Butª Paulª saidª° untoª them,ª They have beatenª° usª openlyª uncondemned,ª beingª° Romans,ª² and¹ have castª° [us] intoª prison;ª andª nowª do they thrust²° us² outª°¹ privily?ª nayª verily;ª butª let them comeª° themselves²¹ and fetch²° us² out.ª°¹

Paulos saith to him, They scourged us in the eyes of the world, (we) being innocent, (and) Roman men, and threw us into the house of the bound; and now would they bring us forth secretly? No, indeed, but they shall come and bring us out.

But Paul said to him: They have scourged us, unoffending men, and Romans, before all the world, and have cast us into prison; and now, do they secretly let us out? No, surely: but let them come themselves and bring us out.

ὁ δὲ Παῦλος ἔφη πρὸς αὐτούς Δείραντες ἡμᾶς δημοσίᾳ ἀκατακρίτους, ἀνθρώπους Ῥωμαίους ὑπάρχοντας, ἔβαλαν εἰς φυλακήν: καὶ νῦν λάθρᾳ ἡμᾶς ἐκβάλλουσιν; οὐ γάρ, ἀλλὰ ἐλθόντες αὐτοὶ ἡμᾶς ἐξαγαγέτωσαν.

The-one moreover a-Paulos it-was-declaring toward to-them, Having-swiped to-us unto-assembly-belonged to-un-separated-down, to-mankinds to-Rhome-belonged to-firsting-under, they-casted into to-a-guarding; and now unto-secluded to-us they-casteth-out? Not therefore, other having-had-came, them, to-us they-should-have-had-led-out.
