Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.

Whereas¹ Edomª saith,ª° We are impoverished,ª° but we will returnª° and buildª° the desolate places;ª thus¹ saithª° the LORDª of hosts,ª They¹ shall build,ª° but I¹ will throw down;ª° and they shall callª° them, The borderª of wickedness,ª and, The peopleª against whom¹ the LORDª hath indignationª° for² ever.ª¹
