And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh [unto me], and with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught [them];

Wherefore the Lordª said,ª° Forasmuchª¹ as this¹ peopleª draw nearª° [me] with their mouth,ª and with their lipsª do honourª° me, but have removed²° their heart² farª°¹ from¹ me, and their fearª toward¹ me is¹ taughtª° by the preceptª of men:²¹

Wherefore the Lordª said,ª° Forasmuchª¹ as this¹ peopleª draw neereª° mee with their mouth,ª and with their lipsª doe honourª° me, but haue remoued²° their heart² farreª°¹ from¹ me, and their feareª towards¹ mee is¹ taughtª° by the preceptª of men:²¹
