but the children of the murderers he put not to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.

But the childrenª of the murderersª° he slewª° not:¹ according unto that which is writtenª° in the bookª of the lawª of Moses,ª wherein¹ the LORDª commanded,ª° saying,ª° The fathersª shall not¹ be put to deathª° for¹ the children,ª nor¹ the childrenª be put to deathª° for¹ the fathers;ª but¹¹ every manª shall be put to deathª° for his own sin.ª
