Now this was [the custom] in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning exchanging, to confirm all things: a man drew off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor; and this was the [manner of] attestation in Israel.

Now this¹ [was the manner] in former timeª in Israelª concerning¹ redeemingª and concerning¹ changing,ª for to confirmª° all¹ things;ª a manª plucked offª° his shoe,ª and gaveª° [it] to his neighbour:ª and this¹ [was] a testimonyª in Israel.ª
