For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

For¹ these¹ nations,ª which¹ thou¹ shalt possess,ª°¹ hearkenedª° unto¹ observers of times,ª° and unto¹ diviners:ª° but as for thee,¹ the LORDª thy Godª hath not¹ sufferedª° thee so¹ [to do].

For¹ these¹ nationsª which¹ thou¹ shalt possesse,ª°¹ hearkenedª° vnto¹ obseruers of times,ª° and vnto¹ diuiners:ª° but as for thee,¹ the LORDª thy Godª hath not¹ sufferedª° thee so¹ [to doe].

For all these nations whose [land] thou shalt inherit, they will listen to omens and divinations; but the Lord thy God has not permitted thee so [to do].
