Zephaniah 3

1 A sharp reproof of Jerusalem for divers sins. 8 An exhortation to wait for the restoration of Israel, 14 and to rejoice for their salvation by God.

 3:1 Woe 1945 to her who is rebellious 4784 and defiled 1351, The tyrannical 3238 city 5892b!

 3:2 She heeded 8085 no 3808 voice 6963, She accepted 3947 no 3808 instruction 4148. She did not trust 982 in the LORD 3068, She did not draw 7126 near 7126 to her God 430.

 3:3 Her princes 8269 within 7130 her are roaring 7580 lions 738, Her judges 8199 are wolves 2061 at evening 6153; They leave 1633a nothing 3808 for the morning 1242.

 3:4 Her prophets 5030 are reckless 6348, treacherous 900 men 376; Her priests 3548 have profaned 2490c the sanctuary 6944. They have done 2554 violence 2554 to the law 8451.

 3:5 The LORD 3068 is righteous 6662 within 7130 her; He will do 6213a no 3808 injustice 5767b. Every 1242 morning 1242 He brings 5414 His justice 4941 to light 216; He does not fail 5737c. But the unjust 5767a knows 3045 no 3808 shame 1322.

 3:7 “I said 559, ‘Surely 389 you will revere 3372a Me, Accept 3947 instruction 4148.’ So her dwelling 4583 will not be cut 3772 off 3772 [According to] all 3605 that I have appointed 6485 concerning 5921 her. But they were eager 7925 to corrupt 7843 all 3605 their deeds 5949.

 3:8 ¶ “Therefore 3651 wait 2442 for Me,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “For the day 3117 when I rise 6965 up as a witness 5707. Indeed 3588, My decision 4941 is to gather 622 nations 1471, To assemble 6908 kingdoms 4467, To pour 8210 out on them My indignation 2195, All 3605 My burning 2740 anger 639; For all 3605 the earth 776 will be devoured 398 By the fire 784 of My zeal 7068.

 3:9 “For then 227 I will give 2015 to the peoples 5971a purified 1305 lips 8193, That all 3605 of them may call 7121 on the name 8034 of the LORD 3068, To serve 5647 Him shoulder 7926 to shoulder 7926.

 3:10 “From beyond 5676 the rivers 5104 of Ethiopia 3568a My worshipers 6282a, My dispersed 1323 6327a ones, Will bring 2986 My offerings 4503.

 3:11 “In that day 3117 you will feel 954 no 3808 shame 954 Because 4480 of all 3605 your deeds 5949 By which 834 you have rebelled 6586 against Me; For then 227 I will remove 5493 from your midst 7130 Your proud 1346, exulting 5947 ones 5947, And you will never 3808 5750 again 3254 be haughty 1361b On My holy 6944 mountain 2022.

 3:12 “But I will leave 7604 among 7130 you A humble 6041 and lowly 1800b people 5971a, And they will take 2620 refuge 2620 in the name 8034 of the LORD 3068.

 3:13 “The remnant 7611 of Israel 3478 will do 6213a no 3808 wrong 5767b And tell 1696 no 3808 lies 3577, Nor 3808 will a deceitful 8649b tongue 3956 Be found 4672 in their mouths 6310; For they will feed 7462a and lie 7257 down 7257 With no 369 one 369 to make them tremble 2729.”

 3:14 ¶ Shout 7442 for joy 7442, O daughter 1323 of Zion 6726! Shout 7321 [in triumph], O Israel 3478! Rejoice 8055 and exult 5937 with all 3605 [your] heart 3820, O daughter 1323 of Jerusalem 3389!
