Haggai 1

1 Haggai reproveth the people for neglecting the building of the house. 7 He inciteth them to the building. 12 He promiseth God's assistance to them being forward.

 1:1 In the second 8147 year 8141 of Darius 1867 the king 4428, on the first 259 day 3117 of the sixth 8345 month 2320, the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 by the prophet 5030 Haggai 2292a to Zerubbabel 2216 the son 1121 of Shealtiel 7597, governor 6346 of Judah 3063, and to Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Jehozadak 3087, the high 1419 priest 3548, saying 559,

 1:2 “Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, ‘This 2088 people 5971a says 559, “The time 6256 has not come 935, [even] the time 6256 for the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 to be rebuilt 1129.”’”

 1:3 Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 by Haggai 2292a the prophet 5030, saying 559,

 1:4 “Is it time 6256 for you yourselves 864b to dwell 3427 in your paneled 5603 houses 1004 while this 2088 house 1004 [lies] desolate 2720b?”

 1:5 Now 6258 therefore, thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, “Consider 7760 3824 5921 your ways 1870!

 1:6 “You have sown 2232 much 7235a, but harvest 935 little 4592; [you] eat 398, but [there is] not [enough] to be satisfied 7654; [you] drink 8354, but [there is] not [enough] to become 7937 drunk 7937; [you] put 3847 on clothing 3847, but no 369 one 369 is warm 2552 [enough]; and he who earns 7936, earns 7936 wages 7939 [to put] into a purse 6872a with holes 5344a.”

 1:7 ¶ Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, “Consider 7760 3824 5921 your ways 1870!

 1:8 “Go 5927 up to the mountains 2022, bring 935 wood 6086 and rebuild 1129 the temple 1004, that I may be pleased 7521 with it and be glorified 3513,” says 559 the LORD 3068.

 1:9 “[You] look 6437 for much 7235a, but behold 2009, [it comes] to little 4592; when you bring 935 [it] home 1004, I blow 5301 it [away]. Why 3282 4100?” declares 5002 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, “Because 3282 of My house 1004 which 834 [lies] desolate 2720b, while each 376 of you runs 7323 to his own house 1004.

 1:10 “Therefore 5921 3651, because 5921 of you the sky 8064 has withheld 3607 its dew 2919 and the earth 776 has withheld 3607 its produce 2981.

 1:11 “I called 7121 for a drought 2721a on the land 776, on the mountains 2022, on the grain 1715, on the new 8492 wine 8492, on the oil 3323, on what 834 the ground 127 produces 3318, on men 120, on cattle 929, and on all 3605 the labor 3018 of your hands 3709.”

 1:12 ¶ Then Zerubbabel 2216 the son 1121 of Shealtiel 8032b, and Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Jehozadak 3087, the high 1419 priest 3548, with all 3605 the remnant 7611 of the people 5971a, obeyed 8085 the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 their God 430 and the words 1697 of Haggai 2292a the prophet 5030, as the LORD 3068 their God 430 had sent 7971 him. And the people 5971a showed 3372a reverence 3372a for the LORD 3068.

 1:13 Then Haggai 2292a, the messenger 4397 of the LORD 3068, spoke 559 by the commission 4400 of the LORD 3068 to the people 5971a saying 559, “ ‘I am with you,’ declares 5002 the LORD 3068.”

 1:14 So the LORD 3068 stirred 5782 up the spirit 7307 of Zerubbabel 2216 the son 1121 of Shealtiel 8032b, governor 6346 of Judah 3063, and the spirit 7307 of Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Jehozadak 3087, the high 1419 priest 3548, and the spirit 7307 of all 3605 the remnant 7611 of the people 5971a; and they came 935 and worked 6213a on the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, their God 430,

 1:15 on the twenty-fourth 6242 702 day 3117 of the sixth 8345 month 2320 in the second 8147 year 8141 of Darius 1867 the king 4428.
