Ruth 3

1 By Naomi's instruction, 5 Ruth lieth at Boaz's feet. 8 Boaz acknowledgeth the right of a kinsman. 14 He sendeth her away with six measures of barley.

 3:1 Then Naomi 5281 her mother-in-law 2545 said 559 to her, “My daughter 1323, shall I not seek 1245 security 4494 for you, that it may be well 3190 with you?

 3:2 “Now 6258 is not Boaz 1162 our kinsman 4130, with whose 834 maids 5291 you were? Behold 2009, he winnows 2219 barley 8184 at the threshing 1637 floor 1637 tonight 3915.

 3:3 “Wash 7364 yourself therefore, and anoint 5480a yourself and put 7760 on your [best] clothes 8071, and go 3381 down 3381 to the threshing 1637 floor 1637; [but] do not make 3045 yourself known 3045 to the man 376 until 5704 he has finished 3615 eating 398 and drinking 8354.

 3:4 “It shall be when he lies 7901 down 7901, that you shall notice 3045 the place 4725 where 834 8033 he lies 7901, and you shall go 935 and uncover 1540 his feet 4772 and lie 7901 down 7901; then he will tell 5046 you what 834 you shall do 6213a.”

 3:5 She said 559 to her, “All 3605 that you say 559 I will do 6213a.”

 3:6 ¶ So she went 3381 down 3381 to the threshing 1637 floor 1637 and did 6213a according to all 3605 that her mother-in-law 2545 had commanded 6680 her.

 3:7 When Boaz 1162 had eaten 398 and drunk 8354 and his heart 3820 was merry 3190, he went 935 to lie 7901 down 7901 at the end 7097a of the heap 6194 of grain 6194; and she came 935 secretly 3909, and uncovered 1540 his feet 4772 and lay 7901 down 7901.

 3:8 It happened 1961 in the middle 2677 of the night 3915 that the man 376 was startled 2729 and bent 3943 forward 3943; and behold 2009, a woman 802 was lying 7901 at his feet 4772.

 3:9 He said 559, “Who 4310 are you?” And she answered 559, “I am Ruth 7327 your maid 519. So spread 5203 your covering 3671 over 5921 your maid 519, for you are a close 1350 relative 1350.”

 3:10 Then he said 559, “May you be blessed 1288 of the LORD 3068, my daughter 1323. You have shown 3190 your last 314 kindness 2617a to be better 3190 than 4480 the first 7223 by not going 1980 after 310 young 970 men 970, whether 518 poor 1800b or 518 rich 6223.

 3:11 “Now 6258, my daughter 1323, do not fear 3372a. I will do 6213a for you whatever 3605 834 you ask 559, for all 3605 my people 5971a in the city 8179 know 3045 that you are a woman 802 of excellence 2428.

 3:12 “Now 6258 it is true 551 I am a close 1350 relative 1350; however 1571, there 3426 is a relative 1350 closer 7138 than 4480 I.

 3:13 “Remain 3885a this night 3915, and when morning 1242 comes 1961, if 518 he will redeem 1350 you, good 2896a; let him redeem 1350 you. But if 518 he does not wish 2654a to redeem 1350 you, then I will redeem 1350 you, as the LORD 3068 lives 2416a. Lie 7901 down 7901 until 5704 morning 1242.”

 3:14 ¶ So she lay 7901 at his feet 4772 until 5704 morning 1242 and rose 6965 before 2962 one 376 could recognize 5234 another 7453; and he said 559, “Let it not be known 3045 that the woman 802 came 935 to the threshing 1637 floor 1637.”

 3:15 Again he said 559, “Give 3051 me the cloak 4304 that is on you and hold 270 it.” So she held 270 it, and he measured 4058 six 8337a [measures] of barley 8184 and laid 7896 [it] on her. Then she went 935 into the city 5892b.

 3:16 When she came 935 to her mother-in-law 2545, she said 559, “How 4310 did it go, my daughter 1323?” And she told 5046 her all 3605 that the man 376 had done 6213a for her.

 3:17 She said 559, “These 428 six 8337a [measures] of barley 8184 he gave 5414 to me, for he said 559, ‘Do not go 935 to your mother-in-law 2545 empty-handed 7387.’”

 3:18 Then she said 559, “Wait 3427, my daughter 1323, until 5704 834 you know 3045 how 349 the matter 1697 turns 5307 out; for the man 376 will not rest 8252 until 3588 518 he has settled 3615 it today 3117.”
