These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Theseª allª diedª° inª faith,ª notª having receivedª° the¹ promises,ª butª having seenª° themª afar off,ª andª were persuaded¹ of²° [them], andª embracedª° [them], andª confessedª° thatª they wereª° strangersª andª pilgrimsª onª the¹ earth.ª

In faith died these all, not having gotten their promise, but from afar had beheld it, and exulted in it, and confessed that strangers they were, and sojourners in the earth.

All these died in faith, and received not their promise; but they saw it afar off, and rejoiced in it; and they confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Κατὰ πίστιν ἀπέθανον οὗτοι πάντες, μὴ κομισάμενοι τὰς ἐπαγγελίας, ἀλλὰ πόρρωθεν αὐτὰς ἰδόντες καὶ ἀσπασάμενοι, καὶ ὁμολογήσαντες ὅτι ξένοι καὶ παρεπίδημοί εἰσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς:

Down to-a-trust they-had-died-off, the-ones-these all, lest having-tended-to to-the-ones to-messagings-upon-unto, other far-unto-which-from to-them having-had-seen and having-drawn-along-to, and having-along-fortheed-unto to-which-a-one guested and assembled-upon-beside they-be upon of-the-one of-a-soil;
