and not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana be made of no account, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

So² that¹ notª onlyª thisª ourª craftª is in dangerª° to be set²° at² nought;ª¹¹ butª alsoª that the¹ templeª of the¹ greatª goddessª Dianaª should be despised,ªªª° andª² her²¹ magnificenceª shouldª° be¹ destroyed,ª° whomª allª Asiaª andª the¹ worldª worshippeth.ª°

So² that¹ notª onlyª thisª ourª craftª is in dangerª° to be set²° at² nought:ª¹¹ butª alsoª that the¹ Templeª of the¹ greatª goddesseª Dianaª should be despised,ªªª° andª² her²¹ magnificenceª shouldª° be¹ destroyed,ª° whomª allª Asia,ª andª the¹ worldª worshippeth.ª°

And not only is this business defamed and brought to an end, but also the temple of Artemis the great goddess is reputed as nothing, and she also, the goddess of all Asia, and (whom) all the nations worship, is despised.

And not only is this occupation slandered and impeded, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana is accounted as nothing; and likewise the goddess herself of all Asia, and whom all nations worship, is contemned.

οὐ μόνον δὲ τοῦτο κινδυνεύει ἡμῖν τὸ μέρος εἰς ἀπελεγμὸν ἐλθεῖν, ἀλλὰ καὶ τὸ τῆς μεγάλης θεᾶς Ἀρτέμιδος ἱερὸν εἰς οὐθὲν λογισθῆναι, μέλλειν τε καὶ καθαιρεῖσθαι τῆς μεγαλειότητος αὐτῆς, ἣν ὅλη [ἡ] Ἀσία καὶ [ἡ] οἰκουμένη σέβεται.

Not to-alone moreover the-one-this it-perileth-of unto-us to-the-one to-a-portion into to-a-confuting-off-of to-have-had-came, other and to-the-one of-the-one of-great of-a-deitess of-an-artemis to-sacred into to-not-from-one to-have-been-fortheed-to, to-impend also and to-be-lifted-down-unto of-the-one of-a-great-belongness of-it, to-which whole [the-one] an-Asia and [the-one] being-housed-unto it-revereth.
