For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:

Forª asª the¹ Fatherª hathª° lifeª inª himself;ª soª² hath he givenª° to¹ the¹ Sonª to haveª° lifeª inª himself;ª

For as the Father hath life in his person, so hath he given also to the Son to have life in his person,

For, as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son also, to have life in himself:

ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἔχει ζωὴν ἐν ἑαυτῷ, οὕτως καὶ τῷ υἱῷ ἔδωκεν ζωὴν ἔχειν ἐν ἑαυτῷ:

As-very therefore the-one a-Father it-holdeth to-a-lifing in unto-self, unto-the-one-this and unto-the-one unto-a-Son it-gave to-a-lifing to-hold in unto-self;
