And he spake also a parable unto them: No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old.

Andª he spakeª° alsoª a parableª untoª them;ª² No manª puttethª° a pieceª of a newª garmentª uponª an old;ª² if otherwise,¹ then² bothª the¹ newª maketh a rent,ª° andª the¹ pieceª that¹ was [taken] out ofª the¹ newª agreethª° notª with the¹ old.ª

He spake to them a parable: No man cutteth a piece from a new material, and fasteneth it upon an old garment; lest he rend the new, without completing the old with the piece that is new.

And he spoke a similitude to them: No one teareth a patch from a new garment, and putteth it to an old garment; lest he tear the new, and the patch from the new cease to make the old [garment] whole.

Ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ παραβολὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὅτι Οὐδεὶς ἐπίβλημα ἀπὸ ἱματίου καινοῦ σχίσας ἐπιβάλλει ἐπὶ ἱμάτιον παλαιόν: εἰ δὲ μήγε, καὶ τὸ καινὸν σχίσει καὶ τῷ παλαιῷ οὐ συμφωνήσει τὸ ἐπίβλημα τὸ ἀπὸ τοῦ καινοῦ.

It-was-forthing moreover and to-a-casting-beside toward to-them to-which-a-one, Not-moreover-one to-a-casting-upon-to off of-an-apparelet of-fresh having-severed-to it-casteth-upon upon to-an-apparelet to-past-belonged, if moreover lest-too and to-the-one to-fresh it-shall-sever-to and unto-the-one unto-past-belonged not it-shall-sound-together-unto, the-one a-casting-upon-to the-one off of-the-one of-fresh.
