Neither do [men] light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house.

Neitherª do men lightª° a candle,ª andª putª° itª underª a bushel,ª butª onª a candlestick;ª andª it giveth lightª° unto allª that¹ are inª the¹ house.ª

Nor do they kindle a lamp and place it beneath a measure, but on a candlestick, and it enlighteneth all who are in the house.

And they do not light a lamp and place it under a bushel; but upon a lightstand, and it giveth light to all that are in the house.

οὐδὲ καίουσιν λύχνον καὶ τιθέασιν αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τὸν μόδιον ἀλλ' ἐπὶ τὴν λυχνίαν, καὶ λάμπει πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ.

Not-moreover they-burn to-a-luminating-of and they-place to-it under to-the-one to-a-modios, other upon to-the-one to-a-luminating-of-unto, and it-lampeth unto-all unto-the-ones in unto-the-one unto-a-housing-unto.
