Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.

You are the salt of the earth: but if it happen that salt become tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? It goeth for nothing but to be thrown without and trodden down by men.

Ὑμεῖς ἐστὲ τὸ ἅλας τῆς γῆς: ἐὰν δὲ τὸ ἅλας μωρανθῇ, ἐν τίνι ἁλισθήσεται; εἰς οὐδὲν ἰσχύει ἔτι εἰ μὴ βληθὲν ἔξω καταπατεῖσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.

Ye ye-should-be the-one a-saltiness of-the-one of-a-soil; if-ever moreover the-one a-saltiness it-might-have-been-dulled, in unto-what-one it-shall-be-salted-to? Into to-not-moreover-one it-force-holdeth if-to-a-one if lest having-been-casted out-unto-which to-be-treaded-down-unto under of-the-ones of-mankinds.
