Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a dresser of sycomore-trees:

Then answeredª° Amos,ª and saydeª° to¹ Amaziah;ª I¹ [was] no¹ Prophet,ª neither¹ [was] I¹ a Prophetsª sonne,ª but¹ I¹ [was] an heardman,ª and a gathererª° of Sycomore fruit.ª

And Amos answered, and said to Amaziah{gr.Amasias}, I was not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet; but I was a herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruits.

Then answeredª° `Ämôs עָמוֹס,ª and saidª° to¹ ´Ámaxyà אֲמַציָה,ª I¹ [was] no¹ prophet,ª neither¹ [was] I¹ a prophet'sª son;ª but¹ I¹ [was] an herdman,ª and a gathererª° of sycomore fruit:ª
