Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, [said he], to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wheresoever it seemeth right unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a present, and let him go. |

But if not, depart; return to Gedaliah{gr.Godolias} the son of Ahikam{gr.Achicam}, the son of Shaphan{gr.Saphan}, whom the king of Babylon has appointed governor in the land of Judah{gr.Juda}, and dwell with him in the midst of the people in the land of Judah{gr.Juda}: to whatsoever places it seems good in thine eyes to go, do thou even go. And the captain of the guard made him presents, and let him go. |
