The poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst; I, Jehovah, will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

[When] the poorª and needyª seekª° water,ª and [there is] none,¹ [and] their tongueª failethª° for thirst,ª I¹ the LORDª will hearª° them, I the Godª of Israelª will not¹ forsakeª° them.

And the poor and the needy shall exult; for [when] they shall seek water, and there shall be none, [and] their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord God, I the God of Israel will hear, and will not forsake them:
