Then said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, unto thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not to us in the Jews' language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

Then saidª° Eliakimª and Shebnaª and Joahª unto¹ Rabshakeh,ª Speak,ª° I pray thee,¹ unto¹ thy servantsª in the Syrian language;ª for¹ we¹ understandª° [it]: and speakª° not¹ to¹ us in the Jews' language,ª in the earsª of the peopleª that¹ [are] on¹ the wall.ª

Then saydª° Eliakimª and Shebnaª & Ioahª vnto¹ Rabshakeh;ª Speake,ª° I pray thee,¹ vnto¹ thy seruantsª in the Syrian language;ª for¹ we¹ vnderstandª° [it]: and speakeª° not¹ to¹ vs in the Iewes language,ª in the earesª of the peopleª that¹ [are] on¹ the wall.ª

Then Eliakim and Shebna{gr.Somnas} and Joach said to him, Speak to thy servants in the Syrian tongue; for we understand [it]: and speak not to us in the Jewish tongue: and wherefore speakest thou in the ears of the men on the wall?

Then saidª° ´Elyäkîm אֶליָקִיםª and Ševnä´ שֶׁבנָאª and Yô´äç יוֹאָחª unto¹ Rav Šäkì רַב־שָׁקֵה,ª Speak,ª° I pray thee,¹ unto¹ thy servantsª in the ´Árämîŧ אֲרָמִית language;ª for¹ we¹ understandª° [it]: and speakª° not¹ to¹ us in the Yæhûđîm's יְהוּדִים language,ª in the earsª of the peopleª that¹ [are] on¹ the wall.ª
