But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt-offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves; for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

But¹ the priestsª were¹ too few,ª so that they couldª° not¹ flayª°¹ all¹ the burnt offerings:ª wherefore their brethrenª the Levitesª did helpª° them, till¹ the workª was ended,ª° and until¹ the [other] priestsª had sanctified²° themselves:¹ for¹ the Levitesª [were] more uprightª in heartª to sanctify²° themselves¹ than the priests.ª¹

But the priests were few, and could not flay the whole-burnt-offering, so their brethren the Levites helped them, until the work was finished, and until the priests had purified themselves: for the Levites [more] zealously purified [themselves] than the priests.

But¹ the priestsª were¹ too few,ª so that they couldª° not¹ flayª°¹ all¹ the burnt offerings:ª wherefore their brethrenª the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםª did helpª° them, till¹ the workª was ended,ª° and until¹ the [other] priestsª had sanctified²° themselves:¹ for¹ the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםª [were] more uprightª in heartª to sanctify²° themselves¹ than the priests.ª¹
