Wherefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, who said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of thy hand?

Wherefore the angerª of the LORDª was kindledª° against Amaziah,ª and he sentª° unto¹ him a prophet,ª which saidª° unto him, Why¹ hast thou sought²° after¹¹ the godsª of the people,ª which¹ could not¹ deliverª°¹ their own peopleª out of thine hand?ª¹
