And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword: and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

And he said,ª° I have been very²° jealousª° for the LORDª Godª of hosts:ª for¹ the childrenª of Israelª have forsakenª° thy covenant,ª thrown downª°¹ thine altars,ª and slainª° thy prophetsª with the sword;ª and I,¹ [even] I only,¹ am left;ª° and they seekª°¹ my life,ª to take it away.ª°

And hee sayd,ª° I haue beene very²° iealousª° for the LORDª Godª of hostes:ª for¹ the childrenª of Israelª haue forsakenª° thy Couenant,ª throwen downeª°¹ thine Altars,ª and slaineª° thy Prophetsª with the sword:ª and I,¹ [euen] I onely¹ am left,ª° and they seekeª°¹ my life,ª to take it away.ª°

And Elijah{gr.Eliu} said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the children of Israel have forsaken thee: they have digged down thine altars, and have slain thy prophets with the sword; and I only am left alone, and they seek my life to take it.

And he said,ª° I have been very²° jealousª° for Yähwè יָהוֶהª ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםª Xævä´ôŧ צְבָאוֹת:ª for¹ the childrenª of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלª have forsakenª° thy covenant,ª thrown downª°¹ thine altars,ª and slainª° thy prophetsª with the sword;ª and I,¹ [even] I only,¹ am left;ª° and they seekª°¹ my life,ª to take it away.ª°
