And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth-el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.

And it came to pass,¹ when kingª Jeroboamª heardª°¹ the sayingª of the manª of God,ª which¹ had criedª° against¹ the altarª in Bethel,ª that he put forthª°¹ his handª from¹¹ the altar,ª saying,ª° Lay holdª° on him. And his hand,ª which¹ he put forthª° against¹ him, dried up,ª° so that he couldª° not¹ pull it in againª° to¹ him.

And it came to passe¹ when kingª Ieroboamª heardª°¹ the sayingª of the manª of God,ª which¹ had criedª° against¹ the altarª in Bethel,ª that he put forthª°¹ his handª from¹¹ the altar,ª saying,ª° Lay holdª° on him: And his handª which¹ hee put foorthª° against¹ him, dried vp,ª° so that hee couldª° not¹ pull it in againeª° to¹ him.

And it came to pass when king Jeroboam heard the words of the man of God who called on the altar that was in Bethel{gr.Baethel}, that the king stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying, Take hold of him. And, behold, his hand, which he stretched forth against him, withered, and he could not draw it back to himself.

And it came to pass,¹ when kingª Yorov`äm יָרָבעָםª heardª°¹ the sayingª of the manª of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,ª which¹ had criedª° against¹ the altarª in Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל,ª that he put forthª°¹ his handª from¹¹ the altar,ª saying,ª° Lay holdª° on him. And his hand,ª which¹ he put forthª° against¹ him, dried up,ª° so that he couldª° not¹ pull it in againª° to¹ him.
